Peggy’s temperature seemed to rise as he stared. God. Being nice was truly embarrassing. For a second, she thought about tossing another insult at him. Just to get that weird look off his face. But that would just prove him right, and if there was one thing she didn’t want to do was prove this mongrel right!

Even so he was testing her patience. “I be nah ugly!” The tiny sheep scoffed, round huge eyes set ablaze. Her cotton tail swaying behind her with fury, as if she were planning to fly like an helicopter. Surely, that would be better than growing salads. Peggy’s busy looking grumpy and pouting when he tells her to look. Carefully, she pads over to his side, looking over his shoulder. His weird...thingies on his head started glowing. By Blackbeard’s chiny chin chin! And suddenly a blast of warm air was released. She could almost feel the echo from it.

Once Imp looked at her, the poor sheep was startled out of her mind. But once she regained her composure, she began to stomp. “Why was I th' only one wit' squiffy salad powers!”

Imp stared, for a very long time, in silence. His mind was stuck--stuck on one little thing... One irritating, weird, niggly little thing.

What is SQUIFFY?!

He huffed in thought, lashing his thickly-ridged tail over the sandy rock.

"Okay you're saying that word again, that word that doesn't mean anything and you said you'd explain but you haven't and it's just like a made-up word. Like-... Pooshy. Or baggly. It's stupid," he declared. Clearly, if he himself had not heard of a word, it could not be a real one. That's how it worked, right?

"And you're not the ONLY one. You aren't special or anything. Lots of people do plants. It's terrible but lots of people have it. But it doesn't mean you can't learn other stuff too."

He said this slowly, then peered at Peggy, to see if she understood. He was also wondering if he, given the choice, would learn a few plant spells--but nah. They seemed boring, and weak. He didn't really blame the sheep for her disappointment.

What an ENTITLED, SMALL MINDED PIG! Peggy’s hooves itched to pummel him into the ground. He simple knew how to cut each and every last nerve. Letting the sparks ran rampant through her body. “Squiffy be a word ye idiot! Ye're jus' too squiffy t' understand it!” The little sheep burst with rage, aiming to walk away, past him, down the passage.

She stops at the sound of his voice. It is between the good and the bad. Whatever he’d been trying to achieve. Comfort. Trust. Confidence or the usual fury he seemed to be so intent in making within her. Stoking the fire as if she were nothing but a steamboat. Honestly, Peggy did need to blow some steam. Without the need of violence...hopefully. “Like wha'?” She looked over her shoulder. “Seen anythin' ever grown wit' thorns afore?”

Imp grunted. He was, in the way he had (with his terribly low attention span), growing bored. He shook himself and waddled a couple yards closer.

"Yeah, I thought I said? Like uhh. Thorns and vines, you can choke people and squish 'em and all that. Look, if you don't wanna meet Dad, I'm going to go hunting, right? Nothing much to do with all these stupid drawings."

Imp scratched his neck with a hind leg, doglike, then peered at Peggy rather blankly.

"Also, explaining a word using the word doesn't explain the word," he added. Helpfully, of course.

Ears flickered slightly as the ideas he so easily filtered into her head. Maybe this mighty salad thing wasn’t so bad after all. The ghost of a smile crept onto her lips, as her gaze became lost. Mind filled with images of great plants, rising from the ground to make the earth shake. Nobody would ever think of her as nothing ever again. And certainly...they’d be too afraid to judge her vocabulary.

“I be goin' wit' ye.” It wasn’t a question, as she tilted her head slightly upwards to look at him, turning to face the strange mismatched creature. It was more of a demand. His addition made her snort, rolling her single eye. “Stupid means...it means that ye're nah too bright. That ye 'ave naught in yer head.”

Imp considered.

"Do you want to learn plant shit, then? I know just the place, if you do. Tons of plants to practice with. It's a good place for me to hunt, anyway. I can show you the way."

The gargoyle-esque hybrid nodded to himself, and started plodding off that way with an awkward gait of wings and stubby alligator legs, turning his entire body to peer at Peggy. He didn't really care that she'd declared she was coming with him. Hell, he could always fly away, if he felt like it, but he still felt a certain kinship with the sheep. Even if she was... woolly. And planty.

"Lots of the other Gembound--that's what they call everyone--they're tiny. Fun to play with. Other ones are big, though. I dunno what you should do if they attack you. I just fly away." He had no idea what sort of defenses the sheep held, should they run into trouble.

Oh, well. He'd keep an eye out for her, but if she got eaten, she got eaten. There wasn't all that much he could do.

“Aye I wants t' learn...plant shit.” Lips pressed together, a small swallow of saliva going down her throat before she could say such a thing. Not only was...plant shit quite vague. But it didn’t sound cool or epic in any sort of way. Associating anything with excrement surely wasn’t the way to make it more interesting. Chin tipped upwards, as she pulled closer to him. Snorting, ears pressed back. Ready for the venture, the voyage. “'n if ye try anythin' funny, any wee thin', I'll sprout posies out o' yer arse.” Her nose twitched, as she peered at him defiantly. With a short nod of the head, she declared her dominance ASSERTED!

He spoke as she began to walk past him, expecting to lead. “Then I'll grow posies out o' thar asses too. Everyone's asses shall be filled wit' flowers.”

Imp listened, watched her seemingly swallow a bit of pride--it looked gross--and flatten back her ears. He wasn't sure what "plant shit" was either, really, but he knew people used it, so-... well, there was that.

"Nothing funny? Where's the fun in that? And what's a posy? And why do you want them in peoples' asses? Hey--do you even know where you're going?"

Imp plodded along behind, not particularly caring. If the sheep wanted to lead, well--let her? She could get lost, and he could laugh, and then have to lead her anyway. He hopped forward a pace or two, peering ahead.

(ooc - if you want we can move a thread to Eridanus for plant stuff, or if you don't, I can say he just shows her the way? I don't mind either way!)

OOC: We can start up a new one there :D I can start since she’s leading. We can say he helped a little bit, copiloting and stuff.

“Posies are a type o' flower, th' flower that's gonna be poppin' out o' yer arse if ye don't get a move on. Hop t' it!” The sheep began to bound ahead, her gait seemed as if she were hopping like a rabbit. The clip clop of her hooves echoing through the cave. For a second, she looked to call back. “'n o' course I know where I be goin'!” True, that was a downright lie, but he’d never know that. Because she was...she was gonna find this place. With no help. I mean, previous knowledge isn’t exactly a requisite. And she’d do it TWICE as fast as he ever could.

Yup. This little sheep ain’t playing.

Imp grinned.

Imp was always grinning.

"Well if you do that I gotta eat you. You probably eat plants but I eat other people. I eat sheep all the time," he decided to add, in what was a distinct and flippant lie. Assuming she didn't turn on him for that one, he just followed along nonchalantly otherwise--pointing out the way, mocking her whenever she looked lost, and just generally being... well, impish.

A few times, even, he'd stop and grin at her, letting her prove that she had no idea where she was going--and if she set off the wrong way, well, he'd tell her that.

Loudly.

((Sounds good! I'll wait for a tag, you can address anything from this post that needs addressing either--here or in the Eridanus one! Thanks :) ))
