QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
Skeena looked, first, at the young owl. "That sounds like a good idea, what Gem, though?" When he offered his name, she added in her own. "I am Skeena."
It seemed the eagle and the spider weren't on the best of terms, as the bird seemed to be snapping at the giant spider. "Yes, Mother lives in the bone room, Canis. I could find a bone?" she suggested.
A feline approached, and the hybrid looked up. "Hello," she offered, and then to the spider, "not the glyphs particularly, but I have seen similar. Mother knows many things, things I haven't yet learned."
"No, she isn't Mother." she shook her head. "I think it will be easier to take the Gem to here - if it has something to do with bones, there are plenty of them in her home.
She couldn't help but to laugh when Scorch returned, seeming disgusted by... something, asking Glory to take him to the river. She looked at the feline when she spoke, and said, "Of course it's alright - why wouldn't it be?"
She watched, curiously, as Thothaga touched the gem. What was she doing? But then Glory was speaking. "Of course, I've traveled it many times. And I agree, bringing it to Mother is a good idea."
However, the spider was quick to speak up. She described what she had seen - was she like Mother? However, the description sounded familiar. "I think I know where that is!"
Looking around, she said, "Canis is not too far. Through Tunnel K, and then you're there."

"I'll come along, too, if that's OK", Felina said. "I'm very interested in what the gem and puzzle might show." She fell in step with the rest of the group and followed them. She also wanted to know who "Giggle" was.
Scorch hesitated as Glory crouched lower. He said he'd be able to heal himself, and Scorch believed him (Glory was big and impressive and seemed as if he could do anything), but would that make it hurt any less if his talons broke skin? Glory seemed confident, though, so it was probably okay. He hopped onto the eagle's back, shifting his talons to get a secure grip in the feathers. He didn't hold on that tightly yet; that could wait until they started moving.
Now that that problem was solved, Scorch was getting really excited! It would be a real adventure. Not that his exploring of the caves before now was any less real, of course, but this was with an entire group! A mysterious puzzle to solve! Secrets to discover! "Let's go!" he cheered. "We're going on an adventure!"

The spider snapped back the eagle as if in shock, and cradled the orb, jealously. "You, carry the stone??" She scoffed. "So you can scratch it with your big claws?" Thothaga would die before she parted with this treasure. She would--
Suddenly, the stone slipped from her pedipalps like a fish. Startled, Thothaga fumbled with it in the air. She was lucky that she didn't drop it. Thothaga stood frozen, hugging the precious orb against her fangs, utterly embarrassed.
Eventually, Thothaga came to. "Okay, she sighed, "You can carry it." The spider slid the stone to Glory. However, before she lifted her claw from it, Thothaga stared straight at the eagle, shifted her fangs "You break it, I eat you." Her multi-eyed gaze lingered on him for awhile longer, awkwardly longer.
After that, Thothaga turned to Skeena and gestured with her foreleg. "Lead on, little rat-creature."

Glory felt a little bit undermined when the strange rat thing talked about how to get to Canis. Hadn't he said that he'd lead the way? But it seemed like the group wanted to take control without him. He clicked his beak with slight irritation, but he wasn't petty enough to argue.
As Scorch gripped at his feathers, he didn't dare stand up straight for fear of knocking them off. He could take off like this. He wouldn't get as much power, but he could do it easily.
When the spider suddenly snapped at him, he whipped his head towards them, eyes blazing with anger. How dare she insult him? He was offering to help, not ruin the whole mission! His anger died down a little bit as she dropped the stone. He wouldn't dare make fun of her for such a pesky little thing. He was a noble creature and would never stoop to such a level. He was just glad that she could see reason. "I won't break it. I promise."
He glanced back at Scorch as he opened his wings. "Hold on tight, now." He didn't leap or do anything grand, for fear that the baby owl would slip off. Instead, he carefully raised himself from the ground, if a little wobbly, and moved himself over the stone. As delicately as possible, he grasped it between his talons, cringing a bit as one of them scratched at the surface. He hoped that it was hard enough to not do any damage. After a small slip, he managed to get it secured tightly between his talons.
Now that he had a good grip, he beat his wings harder to gain altitude and, after a moment, was soaring above the group. He let himself glide in a circle, ready to follow the hybrid on the way to Canis.
Thothaga was arguing with Glory - now that was no good! Why couldn't they just cooperate?! Did they have some kind of grudge against each other? If so, they should save that for later, not ruin the mood of this adventure! Scorch was just about to open his beak when Thothaga gave in, and beamed instead. Now that was better!
Glory opened his wings, and Scorch tightened his talons for a secure grip on the eagle's feathers. As much as he didn't want to hurt Glory, he also didn't want to fall off and hurt himself, and Glory was awesome and could heal himself! Surely everything would be fine. "Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!" he cheered as they gained altitude and started soaring above Thothaga and Felina and Skeena. This was gonna be awesome!
The hybrid nodded when the spider told her to lead them, beginning to scrabble forward. She knew the path to Canis by heart - it was her home, after all. However, she couldn't help but to laugh when she heard the baby bird cheer from his perch atop the older bird.

Thothaga's fangs shuffled anxiously as she watched the eagle take flight with her precious treasure gripped tightly in his talons. For a moment, she thought he might drop it, but her fear was miss placed as he soared above her with no signs of faltering. With that, she followed Skeena, hearing a shriek of excitement from the owl gemling on Glory's back. She still kept an eye on the eagle whenever she could, but her seven others observed the way to Canis. Finally, she was going to see the Room of Bones.
