After her encounter with the skunk named Lily - someone she hadn't cared much for at all - Indelia found herself continuing to explore the cave. It was so colorful and she loved the lights. Though they seemed dimmer than before, and sometimes went out entirely. It was rather annoying. She wanted to look at the lights! How dare they keep going off? How insensitive.

For the time being, the young cat found herself wondering if anyone was nearby. She was bored, and wanted someone to talk to. Someone actually worth talking to, unlike Lily. She'd seen so many gembounds, but she didn't feel they were worth approaching. Maybe someone would approach her? That seemed nice. But still, she walked around, trying to find someone to talk to.

Amazon felt bad for not returning to Orion right away after Luster had hatched, but she would have felt like a terrible mother for moving her child so young to such a different place. She had decided that they would stick to Polaris for the time being until Luster was at least old enough to, maybe, carry her. It felt like a selfish thing to ask, but Amazon knew it would be faster if the hybrid carried her - they were certainly built to move faster then her.

The time was approaching, soon, when she would leave so she needed to prepare. And that first thing was filling up her stomach and getting some strength before the journey. She didn't want to slow it down by getting violently sick.

Of course, at this point, she had learned to live with the constant headaches and occasional stomachaches. She had even tried to get used to the disorientation she sometimes experiences. It was when she got nauseous or her vision went foggy that she really had problems. And sometimes she woke up suddenly with her heart racing out of control or her lungs struggling to take in air. She knew things were getting worse. She wondered how long she'd have left to live.

She put the thoughts aside, though, when she reached her destination - a small outcropping of rocks and dead trees that she knew held some pretty tasty spiders and termites. She began scraping and nosing through cracks and crevices, licking up the insects when she found them. There was one spot where she found a pretty decent size arachnid and, just as she leaned in to pick it up, the spider was alerted and jumped right onto her face.

"Shit!" She stumbled back, clawing at the spider before it bit her and it went flying off of her, tumbling on the ground. It instantly tried to flee but she was quicker and stabbed down with her muzzle, scooping up the spider in her mouth and swallowing it quickly. She didn't notice the cat nearby, too intent on hunting for her small prey and she continued to dig through the hidden spots in the rocks.

Amazon's stone, Vandenbrandeite, has a large percentage of uranium, making it mildly radioactive. Symptoms of radioactivity are listed in her bio. It is also warm to the touch.

It wasn't too long before someone did approach. Though they didn't seem to notice her, too intent on hunting it seemed. She was hunting...was that bugs? Indelia scowled. She watched her for a moment before growing bored. It was no fun just looking at someone, she wanted to talk! Maybe this creature would be work talking to? Was worth a shot, surely.

"Hey! Who're you?"

She looked at the creature's gem. It looked like it was glowing! She almost wanted to touch it, but there was something about it that made her pause. So instead, she simply sat back and watched it while waiting for the other to respond.

Amazon flinched when she heard the voice calling to her and she looked up from her hunt. She had been so focused that she hadn't even noticed the cat nearby. She quickly swallowed the ants she had scooped up and crawled away from the rocks but didn't approach any more then that.

The way the cat had spoken to her made it seem like they were demanding her to tell them who she was. She both didn't like that kind of tone and also was nervous that she was somehow invading someone's hunting grounds. "Uh, I'm Amazon. Why?" Perhaps it sounded a little rude but she wasn't used to gembounds walking up and talking to her. It just seemed like a strange thing to do.
