The young bear cub walked into the room of Orion, not really that amazed by the lights of the cieling. She looked around, not seeing any water to swim in. Zelk had hatched in the cold chilling rooms of Canis, but as a polar bear, the cold didn't bother her at all. She was new to the caves, but had a good enough understanding of most things. She looked around, not seeing much that looked very interesting. Then, something caught her attention. A golden and white tiger, who had a gold gem on her chest. Zelk also had a gem on her chest, but it was different in color and shape. The cub suddenly broke into a run and tackled the cub at her side, but not enough to knock her over. The bear cub loved to rough and tumble, but of course, personal space with young gembounds was sometimes forgotten. Despite that, it was all in good fun.

Orlaith was busy sitting as she was wondering where the best place would be to look for gems. Then she felt someone tackle her, and she was completely caught off guard. She looked to see a polar bear cub on her. It was the first time she met one, but she knew exact;y what polar bears were. "Hey! Get off me please! I was busy thinking then you just rush up and jump on me!" She narrowed her eyes as she finally got a good look at the bear cub. Orlaith did not like to rough and tumble like the bear did, but she did like to play. Not like this, though. She wondered what the bear's name was, and if she would apologize for her current behavior. Deep down though, it was nice to meet a gembound her age.

It seemed the tiger did not like to be jumped on, and it looked like Zelk had disturbed her from thinking. "Oh, I'm sorry! I guess only bears really like to rough and tumble. I'm Zelk, a polar bear. I can see you're a tiger. We may be different, but do you wanna be friends? These caves are really cool, but I don't know nothing about them." Zelk stood on her hind legs and smiled as a show of a greeting. Orlaith seemed very pretty with her golden features, and her accent sounded so... proper. Zelk wondered what Orlaith was thinking about. Why not ask? "What were you thinking about in here?" It had to be pretty important if she was lost in thought like that.

She stopped narrowing her eyes as she continued to look at the bear. Well, this was the first young gembound she had properly met, and there was a strong... spirit, in this bear. "Yes, we can be friends. I'm Orlaith. Also, we're not completely different Zelk. You, me and others like us are called gembounds, and our home is called the caves. I believe there is lore and legends in the caves, but there is definitely also danger here. All gembounds have a type of magic. I can control water, but I'm not sure what you have." Orlaith blinked, wondering how to tell her new friend that she is friends with a dragon. "I have another friend named Dread, he's a large dragon. He like shiny gems and other things, so I was thinking of where to get them for him." Just in case Zelk didn't know what a dragon was, she would explain to her. "A dragon is a large lizard with wings. My friend Dread can also breathe fire."

Zelk listened as Orlaith answered her questions, and gave her some useful information on their kind, gembounds, and the caves. Zelk didn't know what dangers were in the caves, and she hoped she didn't get to find out. She was estatic to find out she possessed magic, but she didn't know what she could control. Though the bear cub didn't worry, she would find out sooner or later. Well, it seemed as though Orlaith really cared about Dread to look for shiny gems for him, whiched seemed to be hard to get. Zelk knew it took a lot of work to find shiny objects. "I know what a dragon is!" Though she said it playfully, she did know what a dragon was. "A dragon! Wow! Maybe I can help you find shiny things for him too!" Zelk wanted to help her friend Orlaith out, and maybe make friends with Dread too. If he wanted too that was.

Orlaith was kinda surprised when Zelk offered to help, but she would take it. "Sure, you can help! While you're in the caves, make sure it is something shiny, and precious looking. Oh, and don't be scared, he's a good dragon once you get to know him." The tigress scooted closer to Zelk, and told her exactly what Dread looked like. It was a new feeling having a friend her age. Her other two friends were adults, a dragon and a cat. Though she treasured them just as deeply as she did Zelk. "Where do you usually like to go Zelk? Just in case I need to find you." Though Orlaith didn't know it now, she and her new friend were going to develop a strong and unbreakable bond between tiger and bear.

Zelk went back on alll fours as she looked at Orlaith, and raked the ground with her sharp nonretractable claws. "I'm a polar bear, I'm not scared of nothin'!" Though the cub was putting on a brave front as she usually did, she really hoped to make friends with Dread by helping Orlaith bring him shinies. Though a smile was back on her face in a instant as Orlaith asked her where she likes to hang out. Well we polar bears are semi aquatic. That means we are not only great in the water, but are partly meant for being in there as well, just as much as we are on land! So you can probably find me underwater swimming and whatnot. So just look for a place with lots of water." With that said, she walked up to Orlaith and sat down. "How about you follow me and I can tell you all about polar bears? Let's get outta this shiny place, this place has no water. I know tigers like to swim, but they aren't as good as polar bears." That wasn't her showing off, but just a fact that pertaining to their species. It was difficult to match up to a polar bear in water, especially if you weren't semiaquatic or weren't made for it. Though, it was also difficult to match up to a polar bear on land, they were huge at adulthood, as Zelk would be.

Orlaith looked at Zelk as her eyes widened a little, knowing that wasn't exactly true, though it was nice to see her friend trying to be brave. The tigress was very interested to hear more of the bear cub's species. Orlaith knew all about her species, but only the basics of other species. "Sure, I'd love to hear more. Yes tigers do like to swim, but we aren't meant for being in the water as long as you polar bears. Tigers are not semi aquatic." Orlaith looked forward to swimming with her friend, but she knew she couldn't go as deeply as Zelk underwater. She was excited by all the fun they were going to have, and she made a mental note to always be there for her bear friend. Friends were supposed to be there for each other. That's what being a friend meant.
