Aetius flew silently into Polaris and gracefully landed near The Crystal River. She had gathered a lot of information during her time as a researcher. Though, there was still much more to uncover. She gazed at the water, and decided to take a seat. She nestled down near the river, gazing at it. She felt a tad bit tired, especially as she was looking after her daughter. Zutar was turning into a fine young gembound, and soon she would be an adult. Aetius had never felt prouder. She didn't worry about Zutar at all, for she knew she would be independent and free when the time came. In fact, she probably already was.

Tethys swam in the Crystal River with grace and speed. She was a sea leopard after all, nd that meant she was meant to dwell beneath the water. She poked her head out of the water only to find an owl resting near the river. As soon as she saw the owl, she quickly swam over to the bird, and let out a loud bark. "Hello, I'm Tethys! How are you doing!" She waited for the owl to answer, not even minding she woke the white bird up. Of course, she was just a child after all. Tethys would probably learn in time, or not. One thing is for certain that she will have matured at four cycles.

Aetius was just about to sleep, she was woken up by a gembound of the sea. That was what Aetius called gembounds who were meant to live underwater. She let out a surprised hoot, then turned her head to the child. She shook her head in dismay, wondering if any child in the caves had any manners. Well, some of them did, and some of them didn't. But most of them were good children, and they were supposed to learn. That was part of growing up. She gave the child a warm look and introduced herself. "My name is Aetius. I am a researcher of the caves. I find out the caves secrets and lore, it's history as well. It is very nice to meet you, Tethys." With that, she waited to see if the child wanted anything.

Tethys perked up as soon as she heard the words, secrets, history, and lore! Immediately Tethys burst out a question. "Oooo! Tell me everything you know! I wanna know! Please?" Tethys started splashing around the water, sprinkling Aetius in the process. When she was done, she stared eagerly up at the owl with black eyes. Would the owl tell her? Maybe she would, maybe she wouldn't. Tethys hoped and pleaded in her mind that Aetius would tell her what she knew. "If you tell me, I could help you in return? I have arcane magic."

Arcane magic?! It was quite remarkable to hear that a sea mammal had arcane magic. If this sea creature had arcane magic, maybe there was a meaning to this. To teach this young pup all she had uncovered, and see what she can find below the seas. "All right. I will tell you all I know. But when I do, promise to find all you can above the water, and everything below it." She took a deep breath, not believing what she was about to do. But she felt a strong purpose in doing it, so she would. Aetius whispered to the pup everything she knew, and all she had gathered. She stopped once every bit of information was given to the young one.

Tethys widened her eyes at the sheer information she was given, but she memorized all of it. She nodded happily once she was done, "Thanks Aetius! I promise to find out all I can about the caves too, including underwater." With that, the seal leopard began to swim away, giving a happy bark to Aetius as she left. It seemed that Tethys saw the cave in a whole new light. Now, it was her turn to uncover stuff, and use her arcane magic to help her do that.

Aetius watched with happiness and a hint of pride as the pup sped off. There was a purpose in telling her all of what she knew. And even though some would not understand what that was, she did. She began to fly away and look for a spot in a tree to sleep in so she would not be disturbed.
