QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

Kerberos decided quite quickly that he didn't like what Quix was doing. He tried to strain his heads around to look at her but mostly bonked noses into cheeks and ended up shaking his heads in dismay. It felt really odd and uncomfortable having someone up on his back, but after a great long moment he found she wasn't hurting him and decided that as much as he felt awkward about having a tiny fox on him he could gosh darn put up with it for a little bit.
"You can hear... bugs in sand?" He asked as she answered him, sounding bewildered. He could hear rats scuttling around, but most of the time he smelled better than he heard. She went on about bugs and the fox asked if he ate bugs. He couldn't help but think of Baratheon again. "Bugs are too small," he woofed simply, tail swishing slowly behind him.
"I eat rats and I would eat gembounds like you, but I've been told not to," he explained shortly, his tone matter-of-fact. He had nothing to hide from the big eared kit. "You have friends, lots of teeth, I bet," he continued, sounding absolutely sure of himself. "If I ate you, your teeth would come back at eat me." All that said, he stretched out his paws before him and rested his heads upon them.
"I have to get really big and get lots of friends and teeth before I can eat more than rats, and even then I probably shouldn't. I don't know of any big food that doesn't talk though, and it's awful. When I get big, what will I eat?"
Quix snuggled into Kerberos fur, totally oblivious to his bonking heads and noses. As Kerberos – whom she thought of fondly as Kerby – rephrased her question, she gave a “Mhmm!” and flipped onto her back, reclining against his fur, four paws waving in the air – and it was then that she noticed his tail, snake-like. How odd, the girl thought. He went on about eating her to which Quix immediately, no hesitation whatsoever, jumped off his back and scurried to face him. Her petite features scrunched up crossly as she yipped at him. “I knew it! You wanted to eat me! Yes, lots of teeth will come. You don’t eat things with feelings.” Her tone softened then, as she continued. “Small creatures don’t think so much but we,” and her, she would lift one paw and tilt Kerby’s middle head to gaze left and right, “We see, feel, hear and know our surroundings. It is not right to eat something that feels as much as we do. They are equal.” She woofed to him and then patted the head, following which she considered his next question. When he got big, what would he eat? The girl slumped onto her butt. The question wasn’t very hard to her, but she understood that Kerberos would want larger things. She thought hard, then her eyes lit up and she got up and looked excitedly at each head. “You could eat cave deer! Larger than me, tasty!” She giggled and then tried to bonk noses with the dog for fun, not minding if he slobbered over her. He was such a adorable pile of fluff, how could she not like him?

Kerberos blinked as he listened to her explain, three sets of equally hot pink eyes burning gazes into his white paws, stretched out on to the icy floor before him. He wondered if it really mattered if things thought so much. They still squealed in pain, still fought for their lives. Still had gems. He slowly realized, much to his bewilderment, that he finally understood-- and firmly disagreed as ever-- the sentiment the other gembounds had about hunting each other. Lesser gembounds could be killed because they didn't talk, because they were lesser. It should have been obvious, yet he was only just realizing it.
Despite finally coming to understand, he could only find a strong feeling of resolve. He disagreed strongly, his eyes meeting hers as she slipped off from his back and started to giggle about cave deer... Whatever those were. Apparently safe to eat. He had never seen one, of course... "Cave deer?" He woofed as she pressed her nose to his, excitement coming off of her in waves. "Sounds tasty!" He agreed shortly, wagging his tail. He shoved his noses into her fur and nuzzled at her, three big heads snorting and snuffing at her huge ears playfully.
"Where do I find 'em?" He asked, ignoring the urge to correct the delightful little one. A small part of him knew, understood, that the "greater" gembounds would do whatever they could to make themselves uneatable. It was a survival technique. It made perfect sense.
And though he would follow their rules, he would never agree with them.
The creamy girl laughed at lifted a paw to pat all of Kerberos’ muzzles as he grew excited at the mention of cave deer and nuzzle her ears and head with all three noses, ruffling up her head fur and making her look like a little puff with a Mohawk. "Oh you funny Kerberos,” she yipped gently, feeling quite shy around this big boy. He gave her fluttery feelings and the thought of them hunting together sounded perfect! After all…she was too small to catch cave deer solo and he made quite the perfect companion. Quix looked around the room then. It was icy and cold – it was quite an inhabitable place for creatures. "Lets go to Orion! They have many cave deer there, just follow that dark hole. Shall we go Kery?” she brought her petite features to his middle face and grinned at him, then turning around playfully brushed her puffy tail across his muzzle. "Onward to cave deer and more food!” she declared, and started to scamper towards Orion, looking back a couple of times to make sure big boy Kerberos was following.

Well. Kerberos watched her bound off, and sniffing the cold air, he knew it would be best to follow. He was pretty hungry, anyway, and she seemed smart for a tiny thing. He rose to his paws and bounded off after her.
Already the big pup had decided he would do his best not to be frugal. He would share whatever they caught, if she was hungry too. It was only fair, and he was a fair, peaceful pup. Even if he did try to eat half the gembounds he ate.
