Prancing around with friends was so much FUN!

And it was about to get even BETTER!!!

Catafay had found something, while running around and being a general doofus, suddenly on the floor. It was white and puffy, like the puffin's own belly. But unlike the puffin, it was cold cold COLD! What was this, a pool of bone dust?!

"BOOOOO! BOO BOO BOO BOOOOO!" The jester called to his compatriots. He needed their assistance! It was cold and weird and he needed snuggles and, most importantly, INPUT!!

They were gonna find out what this was!

Bowie followed behind Catafay, blue eyes half-closed as they trotted along. They yawned and sniffed at a snow drift, blinking slowly.

"It's cold,", they said, and walked towards Catafay to stand beside him.

The capybara charged forward into the snow and promptly lay down in it, rolling about rather happily. It was so nice and cool... they lay there on their back, legs sticking up, eyes closed.

Nap time...

Abra quickly discovered her gemstone, although very pretty, was a big nuisance. It was too heavy for her head, and made her quite top-heavy. She wouldn't let that slow her down, though! Even if being just a little more careful would be the smarter choice.

Still, she managed to keep up while managing to not get a face full of floor. She grinned, happy to be with her friends. They'd rush forward toward the snow, just barely keeping herself from face planting into the mysterious cold stuff. She'd poke it, and with a squeak and a "AH! Cold!" She'd dart back a step or two, staring at the mysterious cold stuff with a mix of curiosity and vague suspicion. She hadn't encountered anything this cold before- highly suspicious! What was it?

She'd watch as Bowie rolled in the snow, before creeping forward to poke at the weird stuff again. "Weird!" she'd exclaim, before poking at it again, and again, and again..

One boo was laying down in it. That looked comfy! The next was just prodding at it. "Cold! Weird! NO it's not Nap Time!! It's time for ADVENTURE, my friends! We DIG! 'Cause it's like dirt. We dig in it like dirt. Maybe there's treasure under it!!!"

With that, Catafay tried to waddle on top of the snow. To his utter shock and surprise, he began waddling through it. It moved out of his way, like parting water, except it didn't remerge in his wake. It was also very cold. And very weird. He also noticed that it made this strange build up in front of him. That might be fun to, let's say, consume?

The idiot puffin clamped the snow in his beak. "COL-- COL-- COL!!!!" he squealed, still trying to chew it and swallow.

Tasted like... cold, but nothing besides that. "COL-- COLD JUICE," he managed to say, feeling his head feel numbingly bad and strange. "EAT IT!" Despite how bad it made his head feel, it was still a fun experience to eat. He wanted his friends to have fun!

Once the freeze in his brain began to settle, Catafay kept trying to trudge forth in the snow.

He didn't get very far before having to backtrack and hop out of the "hole" he'd dug. Turns out being cold for too long kind of hurt!!

Bowie ignored Catafay in favor of naptime, their back fur staving off the cold for the time being. After a while they rolled over, shaking themselves out to rid their fur of snow. They nibbled on a nearby chunk and snorted, mouth smacking at the weird sensation.

"Tongue is numb,", they said, before doing it again and eating more snow, "It's cold water. Like ice."

They circled around and made their way into the snow path that Catafay made, trudging through it a few more feet before galloping around in a circle to make a dip in the banks.

"Is this good?", they asked.

Abra watched both of their friends… eating it? Why would you EAT it? It was cold and weird, and food usually wasn’t cold or weird. Wrinkling her nose slightly at the idea of eating the snow, Abra grabbed a handful of the cold weird stuff in her tiny fist.

It made her hand numb, but it also made a rather satisfying crunch. She grabbed some more snow in her other hand, pressing it against the clump of snow. A snowball, though this looked more like a snow lump. Abra tossed it from hand to hand, mostly because her hands were very numb at this point. What could she even do with this?

Her gaze landed on Catafay, and she couldn’t help the mischievous smile that crossed her face. She tossed the snowball from hand to hand before throwing the lumpy snowball right at the Puffin’s back. Abra grinned, already preparing another snowball. Looks like this is now a snowball fight.

While Catafay was distracted by Boo's rather lazy attempt at hole digging, it seemed as though Abra was cooking up a plot in the background. Catafay was only made painfully aware of that when said 'plot' hit his back. He had been about to speak!! The puffin turned a full 180 to see what had hit him, and guess what he caught? ABRA! GRINNING! And MAKING SOMETHING WITH THOSE WEIRD LITTLE HANDS!!

"B-BETRAYAL!" Catafay cried, although a giggle was already beginning to rise to his beak. "BOO, we're under SIEGE! Dig better! Faster! PREPARE FOR BATTLE!!!" And with that, while Boo was hopefully doing a better job with the digging thing, Catafay would try to roll up something like what Abra was making. Except he didn't have hands so he'd have to use his beak!

With masterful artistry and skill (he nearly tripped and fell and smashed his creation with his face), the puffin had finally made... one orb!

He stared down Abra from where he stood, watching for their next move... all while planning his own! This was totally not him just standing around trying to figure out how to actually throw his (sloppy) snowball! This was professional level war tactics!

Bowie looked up when Catafay called their name, yawning before making their way in front of Catafay and plopping down. It didn't matter if they were hit, they were going to nap, and Catafay could use them as a shield if they wanted.

Though they did start making ammunition for the puffin, seeing as he had no hands or paws to shape one. They started to make a pile, occasionally throwing one to Abra to make it fair.

"Have fun,", they said, setting their head down.!

"BRING IT ON!" She challenged, snowball already in freezing hands. She stared at Catafay's messily made snowball, waiting to see if he'd counter attack. They ignored Bowie for the most part- he wasn't fighting, just napping. When no snow came flying at her face, she grinned, lopping her own snowball at Catafay. The snowball went flying through the air, hitting Catafay's neck, just barely missing his face. "HAH! Beat THAT!" She yelled, still grinning.
