Arctic Wolf

Comet felt her mouth successfully bite down on the snake, but it was much harder, and spikier, than she had expected. She tasted the iron, blood, in her mouth. But luckily it wasn't too deep, and she was sure it would heal with time. While her top teeth were having trouble, she felt her bottom teeth pierce through the snake's thinner armor on the bottom. This time the blood was from the snake.
Even though she was sure the wound was life threatening for the snake, she still felt it struggling, and tried to keep her jaws clenched onto that foul snake until it was completely dead.

The snake was already dying, and when the wolf cub's grip shifted a tad on the thick armor, its attempt to bite was weak, at best.

Razor teeth tore a wound in the pup's jaw--painful, bleeding... yet the dying Charger would not (luckily for Comet) be strong enough to envenommate. It was a lancing, passing bite, and then the snake was thrashing limply, struggling but unable to truly further fight.

Comet's jaws had weakened, if only for a few moments, and the snake struck. She felt the fangs sink into her jaw, and a warm gush of blood poured out of her chin. Luckily there didn't seem to be any other effects from the bite, which she guessed was cause the snake was half dead anyway.
She tried to sink her jaws into the snake even harder to kill it completely and avoid any further injuries.

The heavy, muscled body thrashed, the armored scales twisting against Comet's fur.

In moments it was dead, the skilled (or lucky?) strike to its throat having spelled its end.

Comet would have a short while to eat the snake before it began dissolving, melting into a thick, foul-smelling black goop. It was a meal, anyway.

Comet felt the last sparks of life disappear from the snake, and it hung limp in her jaws. She had done it! She had killed a huge snake! Now she just needed to skin it. She raised her claws to the snake's skin and started on her work. She wasn't sure if it would work, because most prey just dissolved.

The skinning would not be doable by a wolf's blunt claws; instead, Comet would need to rend and tear primarily with her teeth. And it wouldn't be easy going, either: the thick, heavy, spined armored skin was difficult to get a grip on and to tear free.

Most likely, it would come off damaged, or even in pieces: but eventually, if barely, the wolf pup would manage. What was left was a questionable, bloodied trophy: all coal-black and glittering gold scales. When the rest of the snake dissolved into black, the hide would remain behind.

It was hard work trying to skin a snake, much harder than doing it to normal prey. Or maybe she just needed to work even harder on her skinning lessons with Aristotle if that was even possible. In the end Comet looked down at her bloodied pieces of snake skin. Colorful, bloody, and in pieces, but still, it was a good trophy. She gathered them up delicately in her jaws and headed home.
