"its all good! lets try again!" he chirped happily, smiling brightly as she seemed to ease, casting the spell again and looking at the cool little sprouts, still fascinated by the magic.

he did the same, chewing up the leaves, which this time had a very nice, almost minty flavor, and rubbed it on his leg. after a few moments, the area around his leg not only seemed to numb the most painful area, but also make his leg feel almost cool! it felt SO much better, and the relief was visible in his expression, letting out a relieved sigh.

"these were the ones! my leg feels so much better!! you did it, Fairy!" he cheered, looking at her in almost adoration, he wished he could do stuff like that. magic was scary, but the idea was definitely one he dreamed of getting to one day. just for his own amusement if anything else. "if we can find more of these plants, we could start a little garden! actually, we could grow a big garden for all the helpful stuff we find! this was wonderful, fairy, thank you!" he rambled on, ideas forming in his lil noggin.

Fairy watched, a little more nervous this time, as Forgraves chewed up the new plant and applied it to his leg. She held her breath as she waited for the verdict and then...it worked! Forgraves sighed in relief and now he was looking at her with a shining face. She almost felt like crying again, but out of joy that she'd helped Forgrave with his pain. "Oh, oh I am just so happy that you're feeling better! I'm so happy that you're alright! My magic really is amazing, wow!" She cheered herself on, then, feeling so happy that she fluttered into the air, did a small loop, and then touched back down, some of the iridescent dust falling with her.

She reached forward with her antennae to scent the leaves that she'd created, or at least what was left. "Oooooo they smell so nice!" She started poking at the ground, then, trying to dig through the dirt to get at the seeds, so she could see what they looked like, but her legs weren't getting her very far. She paused, glancing at Forgraves. "Can you...dig it up for me?" She waved her feet around with a giggle. "I'm not very good at it!"

But then the possibilities suddenly opened up to her. A garden, with all kinds of plants - not just flowers for her to sip from, but herbs for medicinal use! Fruits and vegetables and food! She was suddenly standing up taller, antennae going straight up. "Forgraves...Forgraves you're a genius! A garden! That would be perfect for the village! Oooooo we have to do it, it'll be so great!" She cheered again, reaching forward to embrace the fox as best a giant butterfly could with her stickly legs.

"yes, yes! i told you we could do it!" he chirped happily. he was able to stand up a little better now, staying off of the leg but noticing the redness was going down a bit, which meant good things!

"absolutely! anything for my brilliant assistant in plant-finding!" he mewed, carefully digging his claws into the ground to uproot the rest of the tiny plants. "we'll need somewhere to put these later so we can grow more on our own on the offchance theyre hard to find, maybe a cup or a pot of some sorts? i'll hold onto them, we can do something about that when we get back!"

he let out a small "oop!" at the sudden butterfly hug, but did his best to hug her back without hurting her as he could. "yes! yes, for all sorts of things! food, medicinal plants and herbs, all sorts of different types of things! so not only we can heal people, we can feed them too! put people in charge of it, this is brillaint! great minds work alike, eh?" he chirped happily, giving her a playful nudge. "i dont know what i would've down without you, flutters, this is a big moment!"

She nodded happily, watching as Forgraves uprooted the little plants carefully without destroying the seeds or the roots. She'd have to study them later and figure out what they were and how to identify them! "Yeah! We should clear out a space near the houses and make a big garden! With all kinds of plants and grow them together! That would be a lot of fun! I'll pet they'd love it if we figured out how to make a pot so we can study them!" Oooo this was so exciting! This was what the village was all about, after all! Discovering! Experimenting! Inventing!

She broke away after a moment and did the same spell again, making little sprouts pop out of the ground. She immediately leaned forward, detecting them. They looked similar to the ones before, but they had a different smell - more pungent then minty. "Oooo this one is different! I wonder what it does and if it helps or hurts or it can be eaten!" She was just as excited as Forgraves about all this, looking back up at him, wings quivering happily behind her. "Yes, yes! We're both so brilliant! This'll be great for the village, I'm sure everyone will love this!" She giggled at the nudge and reciprocated by reaching out with her front legs and wacking him playfully. "Of course! I'm having a lot of fun and I'm so happy to help a friend!"

he was practically beaming with joy and inspiration, "yes, yes, yes! we'll have to remember to do that when we get back, and it cant be too hard to make something like that, can it? if others have, we can too!" he barked happily. he smiled warmly at fairy calling him her friend, wiping away a small tear. it should've been obvious they were, but hearing it made him happy.

he turned his attention to the new plants fairy sprouted, leaning down to look at them, carefully clutching the other sprouts with his tail, sniffing them lightly. "these are quite interesting! im gonna try something different, hold on." he chirped, taking some of the leaves, chewing them up, and then just... straight up swallowing it.

it did take a second, when you eat things it always does, it needs time to move through your system, but after a minute or so, forgraves noted that, despite the previous plant having worn off by now, his leg still felt relatively better, and now, it was beginning to feel like he never even injured it at all. tight and pinchy, yes, but the pain was mostly relieved. and, better yet, it didn't seem to stop working after another minute, meaning this was probably a good general pain reliever for long-term use rather than quick numbing, though using them in quick succession of the other is definitely something he'll have to test later, see if its as effective with only one or the other, or if its better with both.

"another brilliant discovery, fairy!" he beeped. "we'll have to look for these too! it seems these are much better for consumption than manual application, i'll have to test if they work better together or alone, it depends! see how the other plant reacts to consumption aswell, the possibilities are practically endless!" he finished, looking down and carefully digging those out aswell, holding them tightly in his tail with the others.

"we should probably find where these grow naturally before we do any more new ones, if we can find out the conditions they typically grow in we can attempt to imitate it one way or another, i wonder if its possible to create mini-environments for them, wouldn't that be interesting?" he suggested.

She noticed the little tears in Forgraves' eyes and wondered if he was sad. Because people cried when they were sad, right? Had she said something to make him sad? But he still looked happy. Did people cry when they were happy too? She was a little confused, but Forgraves continued on like he wasn't sad so she assumed that was the case. Maybe Forgraves was just kind of weird!

She looked delighted that she'd grown another plant that was both edible and helpful, antennae waving merrily and wings slowly folding up and down on her back. "Oh I'm glad!! I don't know what they are, but that's great that we have a starting point! We should be careful when we test though because I know some plants are really really dangerous!" Unfortunately, Fairy didn't have enough experience to know which of those were the dangerous ones but...well, they'd just have to be careful.

She raised a leg and tapped thoughtfully at her tongue. "Hmmm...we should try that big garden in the middle of Eridanus!! I go there sometimes for nectar because there's a lot of flowers there! I haven't been there in a while but I'm sure we'll find other things there!"

he nodded at her words, excited and full of curiosity. "of course, of course! very careful, wouldn't want to accidentally poison myself!" he joked.

he thought, pacing around. when fairy brought up the garden he nearly exploded again. "thats a brilliant idea, fairy! theres fu- frick tons of different plants there! so many possibilities and combinations, so many things to try, oh you're brilliant! we shouldn't waste any time at all, i have things i need to pick up, and then we'll be off! oh fairy, thank you!" he chirped in delight, giving her the best hug a fox could to a giant magic bug without hurting her, and just.... darting off. he must be real excited!

"i'll meet you back here later!! dont wait up!" he called behind him
