"No. It won't be," she mumbled in reply.

It would never be the same. But it didn't mean it had to be a bad thing. They had a second chance, after all.

She was relieved when he started to cry. He didn't cry out of stress and anger, but out of sorrow. She'd managed to peel away the layers and now he could start to heal. It lifted a weight off of her own shoulders and she snuggled the bird closer, comforting him.

"Sleep well," she mumbled, watching him slowly drift away.

Unlike her statement of napping, she didn't sleep yet. She stared off into Canis, ears down. They had to get away from Hydra so that they could heal. Perhaps she could invite Pumpkin along with her and Charles. Maybe he'd agree. They could start over and start anew.

They could start to heal.
