Enna was, frankly, concerned about the medical supplies. After all, when Cancer came back he would need plenty of herbs and wraps and whatnot. She had been worrying her beak off, honestly, and it was obnoxious to have that low hum of anxiety in the back of Calypso's mind. She did her best to ignore it as she went about sorting the moss by the ponds, collecting the perfect clumps.

It was easy to lose oneself to the monotony of a chore, and Calyspo found it easy to copy how Enna had set things up. For all that she disliked her fellow headmate, it was obvious to see that in some ways, they shared things. With Enna, she shared a desire for orderliness. With Ratchet, the longing for exploration and freedom.

Hell, was it any wonder they frustrated her? She saw her reflection in them and hated it. She wanted to crush them, to eliminate them from the equation-- not that she would or could ever let them know. It wasn't... The correct way to operate. It was too cruel, to vicious and cut-throat, for her tastes.

She shook her head and blinked, noticing a familiar lioness approaching.

"Oh, Makyna! Does Leon need something?" She sounded so eager, so easy to please. She could feel her skin crawl. She would have to work on that. She was feeling chipper, almost excited to be out for so long, in control of her own self for so long. It was almost enough to make her feel really happy, for once. She definitely would have to work on that. It was... Unseemly. Perhaps the others were starting to get to her.

The poor lioness had lain awake for most of the night, thinking about what she had seen and what she should do about it. Cancer had no doubt wanted to kill Leon and that just didn't sit well with her. In fact, it heated her to her very core. Makyna could not remember a time that she had felt so strongly in a negative way about someone. It worried her a little and the sensitive part of her wanted to give in, to let go of the anger but she couldn't. Whenever that sensitive nature of hers tried to rear its head the lioness would think of Leon, of how hurt he was and of how he wouldn't be here if Cancer had gotten his way. It was all Cancer's fault. Who was to say he wouldn't try to kill again? The next time would the victim be so lucky? Ky couldn't wait around to find out. When Cancer returned with Amaria something needed to be done.

She would discuss these things with Leon but he was far too tired and too sickly to be worried about all the politics. So, she let him sleep as she snuck out of the den. She ran through a list of Maji Walezians but only one stuck out in her mind as level-headed enough and mature enough to handle this situation.

Bevy.

Makyna found her way to the little bird's den, her mouth set into a serious line. The lioness didn't need to announce her arrival as the bright bird saw her, letting out a chipper greeting. "Hello, Bevy. No no, Leon is fine. He's resting in my den. I came to talk to you about something..." Not wanting to beat around the bush the lioness came in and took a seat about a foot away from Bevy, her blue eyes were resolute as she believed she was right for coming here.

Her tail thumped against the ground as she looked down at the small creature. How to start this? It was easy enough talking with Leon and if Cancer were here she was certain that he would be able to tell him exactly what he was. It was just in this moment that her mind blanked and she fumbled with her feelings and words. With a sigh she began and decided to go for the all out truth for that was all she could do. "I...I don't think Cancer should be leader anymore... He... He tried to do something terrible in that fight with Leon. Something that goes against the very Maji Walezi code." There, that was a good start and certain to spark some questions.

Calypso was glad-- relatively-- to hear that Leon was okay. It meant she didn't have to stop what she was doing. So, promptly, she went back to wrapping up moss in small bundles of leaves so as to make them easily portable sources of water. She listened, and paused curiously when Makyna said that she thought Cancer shouldn't be leader anymore.

Of course, the election was less than a cycle away. Caly had been paying attention to the time, in case it became relevant. It seemed like it certainly had. Did Leon share the same opinion, she wondered? "Oh?" She peeped, stopping to look at the lioness, warm red eyes meeting cool blue.

"What exactly did he do? Did you use Hindsight?" It was an important question. Was she simply taking the words of a sick, deeply injured bear who had started the fight, or did she see it herself? The bird pushed aside her work and settled down to discuss this serious matter with Makyna.

"If he doesn't return--" she couldn't bring herself to say If Cancer was Dead, even if that was a more matter-of-fact and proper way to say it, "-- then we will need a new leader anyway." Enna was still buzzing, quiet, worried, anxious. Like a low hum, constantly distracting in the back of her mind. The fight-or-flight instinct in her was urging towards fleeing, and it was quite a bother.

Calypso would be quite happy to take control of Maji Walezi in Cancer's place. She didn't particularly care if he was dead.

The bird put away the items she was messing with, moss and leaves and things, and turned to face the lioness. Makyna met her eyes, happy that she had told this sensible bird. Bevy didn't overreact, she was simply calm and asking the right questions. Makyna thought back to the vision, bringing it up so that she could recollect it for Bevy. "I did." For a situation as important as this words alone wouldn't suffice. One would have to be a witness and see for themselves. That was why she did it. "When I used Hindsight on Leon I saw through Leon's eyes. He was lying on the ground, defeated and beaten, Cancer was standing over him with a knife... The one he usually carries around in his armor pack, I think. He was going to use that knife to kill Leon, to dig out his stone!" Her eyes closed so she could relive it all. It made her blood boil all over again and her claws scraped against the ground below.

Those clear blue eyes opened again and in them was rage. "I could see it in his eyes... Murder." There was no doubt. Murder was exactly what he wanted... and he would pay. "He will return, I'm sure of it. I don't know when, but he will." Call it an arcane users' intuition but she knew that murderous feline would return home.

"I think we need to do more than just elect a new leader," She found her words again. Beginning to get lost in that rage. "We need a trial to decide what to do with him." Was she going to far? If she was Makyna didn't care. there needed to be some sort of justice.

As Makyna spoke, something curious happened. The humming of anxiety seemed to stop. There was a great, wonderful, beautiful moment of peace. It seemed like poor Enna couldn't bare to hear that her beloved leader had tried to kill Leon.

The lioness sounded like water about to boil over the edge. The feline was furious, but holding back as best as she could, trying to stay calm. "I should have seen this coming," she replied shortly, softly. Carefully, she tried to pull Makyna back, sieve off her rage. It was distracting. "Makyna, if you're sure the vision is true... Then there's no mistaking it. We can't have a murderer in our midst. I'll hold the Trial, be the.. Judge. We can bring in other gembounds, to hear what he has done. A jury."

She bowed her head, staring at the stretch of clean, smooth rock between them. "It will be fair. We'll let the others decide. With your word and Leon's wounds, I'm sure he'll be convicted. Every gembound deserves to know what he's done. I won't let him hurt anyone else."

With that, her red eyes flashed back up to meet the lioness', tucking her wing feathers to her side. "He's hurt enough of us." Perhaps she was taking it a bit too far. Perhaps she ought to be more fair. Truth be told, Calypso could honestly care less about what happened to Cancer. All her words aside, she was the perfect judge: she would make sure justice was received, however the cards fell. For now, however, she wanted to make sure Makyna didn't do anything rash. If she tried to tear off Cancer's ears as soon as he showed up, it would only waste more of her time.

And she couldn't have that, now could she?

"I'm certain. My visions have never lied before." Everything she'd ever hindsighted had showed her the truth no matter how terrible it was. This vision was a sure thing and it matched what Leon had tried to say before about the knife. However, Ky was confused about her comment on having seen it coming. Had it been that obvious? Ky knew she had only just returned but before then she never would have guessed what the black leopard was capable of. Perhaps she was too lovestruck to notice.

The thought a trial was enough to cool her off a little. Bevy understood, she would make sure that justice was served. The jury would see that Cancer was a murderous jerk and he would be exiled. "Thank-you, Bevy." The lioness said gratefully and with feeling, relieved that this sensible bird saw it her way.

"He has... Between us, he won't get the chance to hurt anyone ever again." With that she dipped her head to the bird, satisfied about the outcome of things. For now that rage had been quelled with the promise of a fair trial. Makyna believed in justice and that evildoers would get what they deserved in the end, so she was content for the moment.

Now, she rose to her paws and turned to leave. Stopping only to look back at the bird and say, "If you ever need anything don't hesitate to ask." With a farewell wave of her tail she was gone.
