Sun took in a deep breath inhaling the smells around him. It was a nice smell, the trench smelled of fresh earth and plants. The lights above shone down nicely and it was warm on his long golden fur. For a moment the gibbon stopped and turned his face to the lights and closed his eyes, and stood there just enjoying the quiet and warm on his face. Sun slowly let out the breath he had taken as he lowered his face and looked around. He was completely alone and he was absolutely fine with that. He hadn’t had a moment to himself in quite some time, though he was alright with it.

Sun let out a grunt to himself not an annoyed grunt, but just a sound. Things were a bit too quiet. Not that it was a bad thing, it was just that he was used to the sound of the children already and the fact that it’s only quiet now when they were asleep. But he honestly loved that and couldn’t have been happier to have the joyous sounds of the children filling the treehouse. As Sun walked along he stopped for a moment feeling particularly good about one bunch of ferns he had come across. Using his staff to push the larger leaves aside Sun stuck himself practically into the cluster of plants to look in the center, and found himself disheartened as he found nothing there.

Sun huffed as he found nothing in the plants. The gibbon worked his way back out the way he came and shook himself off. There was a bit of debris stuck in his coat from the plants and they fell free as he shook. Sun huffed and placed one hand on his hip while his other held his staff. Well that had been a complete waste of time. But that was part of an adventure, not everything was exciting and some ways led to dead ends.

Sun stood tapping his staff on the ground for a moment as he thought. He was debating which way he should go, back towards the way he had come, or deeper into the trench following the walls as he went. Heading back would have been the safe bet to find his way home, but that was no fun. He wasn’t here for boring or actually he wasn’t really out for fun either but here he was. So deeper into the trench it was. The gibbon made his way towards the wall, finally reaching it he let out a sigh. The gibbon’s emerald eyes roved over the wall of the trench passing over something red and shiny in the wall, however he completely failed to notice the little bit at all and turned walking away.

SUn began to hum to himself a bit as he walked along the wall of the trench. He still had a while to be on his own before he had to head back for the night and then leave again in the morning. Though the next trip he was taking would take a bit as he had to find his way to a completely new cave he had never been to before. James had warned him about the ground being hot and he wasn’t sure how he was going to defend against that other than just running through the tunnel as fast as he possibly could. But he knew that that tunnel was the last leg to the cave he was looking for. If the ground was hot then he was in the right place.

As Sun continued on his way he paused at the wall finding what seemed to be the base of one of the massive curving bones that came from the ground. They were strange, huge alabaster white curved spires that rose out of the earth. The gibbon reached out and ran a hand over the surface curiously. Looking down and following the curve of the bone, Sun looked closely at the base of the bone where it went into the ground. There nestled beside the bone half buried in the dirt was a large chunk of a lime green Idocrase. Sun hooted happily, glad to have found the final stone he had been looking for. Digging it out Sun brushed it off and tucked it safely away in his bag. Now that he had what he had been looking for he could head home and spend the rest of his time with the children and Comet. With that Sun headed home.
