QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

Abraxas had been travelling for several hours. Her paws were getting sore from walking, but she knew that might happen as this was the longest trek she had ever taken on her own. She had let Comet and Sun know that she was going to Orion. They hadn't easily agreed to let her come on her own, not after Amaryllis had taken off twice to go do who knows what? The first time she had gone to Pegasus to explore, Abraxas guessed that was where she was now. Amaryllis was a determined and stubborn girl, and Abraxas knew she would try to go back. She had said as much and so Sun and Comet had let her be this time. Then it had taken a full day of begging and pleading for them to let her come on her own. She wanted to explore some of Orion on her own and see the home where she had been cared for, for so long by Daddy and Renny. But she also wanted to check out the tower she had heard about.
The tower would be her first stop. Here she was going to look for something, a present for Renny for having taken her flying for her first time not long ago. It had taken forever for the dye to wear out of her fur after they had finished painting. But now she had a beautiful rendition of her dream on a canvas now. Rounded ears listened carefully to everything around her, she unlike her sister was more cautious and standoffish, not wanting to get close very easily. It had taken quite a bit for braxas to warm up to Renny.
It had taken her longer than she thought it would to reach the end of Tunnel I that connected Eridanus to Orion. As she exited the tunnel, Abraxas found herself near the foot of a large tower encrusted with gemstones. Her brilliant golden eyes gazed up at the tower in awe as her gaze moved to the staircase that wound up its full length. Making the short trek to the base of the tower, Abraxas began the long trek to the top of the tower. It was even more beautiful than Sun had told it her it would be. Her long claws made soft clicking sounds as she made her way up the tower and into the large room at the top. As she entered the little griffin-like creature began looking around.
The room appeared surprisingly empty. Strangely empty, even, as if it had been carefully picked clean, or... something else entirely.
Bar the faint quartz speckles across the stone, there was little to see here, bar a few holes where other objects had long ago been pried out. It looked like perhaps once had used the holes for storing items, but now there was nothing but dust, and a stray Wallcrawler skittering away.

Abraxas snorted to herself as she wandered around the room, looking into each of the hollow spaces where items had once been. Each one she looked in absolutely empty, the place eerily empty as if having been desecrated by generations. The girl walked the room still taking in each sight. Her curious nature drove her to investigate every nook and cranny of the room. As the girl reached the door once more, having taken almost half an hour to investigate the whole empty room just to make sure that she missed nothing.
The girl huffed indignantly as she stepped out of the door once more and made her way back down the stairs. The girl moved closer to the cave wall and began to make a thorough check of the area. Golden eyes searched this way and that for anything interesting. She made her way weaving around the buildings of Orion until she came to a new tunnel. It had taken the little griffin-like creature several hours to make her way to the new tunnel.
The little griffin-like creature made her way into the tunnel. She found the ground to be pleasantly even and not at all rough in any manner. The little creature’s gaze was brought up to the walls near the ceiling as she took in the carving of the strange monsters. Her claws clicked softly on the stone floor. Finally as she walked along her eyes caught sight of a pile of strange objects that would to us be weapons and armor. Curiously the little griffin-like creature approached and began digging through the pile setting things aside. As she dug the girl finally seemed to find something interesting buried within the heap of ancient items.

Abraxas attempts Other ( Search for something interesting. )
The tunnel's sand and hot, dry air served to dessicate most things. To mummify, and to preserve. Though the scraps of armor were vaguely rusted, they were ancient; though the shards of shattered weapons lay decayed, dusted, they were far older than they should have been in any other atmosphere.
Here, too, were bits of leather, half-eaten by mice and shrivelled hard. And there--ahh!
A piece of cloth. A rare thing. And though it was ancient, it was still soft; a square foot or so of the corner of a very old... blanket, perhaps? It had once been fluffy with stuffing, and now it was limp and empty, but it still bore strange, bright patterns across a pale and faded surface. Paisley-patterned, with swirls of light blue and yellow on white, once upon a time, it was now grayed and frayed--but still, it was a remnant of another time. Perhaps... another world.

Abraxas perked up gazing at the curious item she had found. It was soft to the touch and bright colored. Tilting her head to one side the griffin-like creature turned the fabric this way and that examining it. It was pretty she had to admit that, but would Renny like it? She wasn’t sure. The little griffin-like creature moved from her pile and found a place to put the piece of fabric where it would be safe.
After stashing away her piece of fabric the little griffin-like creature went back to work. The little griffin-like creature kept looking through the pile of discarded weapons and armor, her curiosity driving her to keep looking until she found the very bottom of the pile. It was here that she found another interesting item.
ROLL 9
Abraxas attempts Other ( Still Looking for more interesting things. )
It was quite a Herculean feat, digging through this pile of ancient war tools—many of them were large bits of heavy metal and sturdy (if mostly-rotted) wood, and Abraxas was small. Still, she could manage to burrow to the bottom. A smart move, if unintentional. Anything small and easily portable by the gryphonesque creature would've long settled down here, having slipped down after centuries of shuddering earth.
This discovery was perhaps as modest as the first: a sort of metal hook. It was curved and ended in a barbed point. Many years' wear and tear'd rendered it quite dull and tarnished it black in spots; it was otherwise a pock-marked silver color. From the dull point and its blunt end, it was no longer than three inches.
In the past, it may have been part of a fishing pole—ah, no... it was too large for that... perhaps some strange implement for combat. Either way, it was interesting to a creature that'd never seen such a thing before, and had never seen anything to provide context for what it was. For all she knew, it could be a weird art piece.
Abraxas didn’t so much dig through the pile of stuff as lift it up to the best of her ability and unceremoniously flip it to the side. It was of course hard work, but with the combined musculature of the lion and badger in her blood, she was a bit stronger than other creatures of her size. She however once she had a hole big enough she could see the bottom of the pile through. The girl sat up and wiggled for a moment and then went in head first.
It was a tight squeeze for the girl to get down to the bottom, but she had managed to make herself quite a nice little path to a hollow at the bottom of the pile. She had to tuck her down covered wings close to her body as she moved but she managed to make it down to the bottom. Here even she couldn’t see very well, but her eyes adjusted and she found a rather unique looking item. Letting out a pleased purr, the girl took the metal object in her mouth and squeezed her way back out of the pile.
The girl easily made her way down the pile and over to where she had stashed the clothed and picked it up placing it in her beak with the metal object Abraxas began to the trek beach to Eridanus and home.
