- THE LEVIATHAN -
The look he gave Chaos-Two was a quizzical one. Its assertion that Vedette couldn't fly yet puzzled him. "Couldn't fly yet-? Is that what it told you? There's no reason it couldn't have flown, and it was trying to escape." He'd made it to fly; risking a guess as to when it would be first capable would have been foolishness, with it leaping for the cave walls as it had been. "Unless you would recommend risking the fate of these caves on it. It was created for Lord Dhracia, Chaos-Two. I do not punish unless the object of my punishment has done something to deserve it. And I think that by now you are aware of what is deserving, and not; a mistake made in ignorance is not deserving." This was slightly harshly-said--not cruel, but certainly not sympathetic. A reassurance, painted in black.
Vedette was trouble, and Vargas held no regrets about having ensured that it wouldn't depart prematurely and doom them all to certain death. A bruised wing was nothing in the face of what its escape would have meant, and now he was debating whether Chaos-Two was too damned sensitive after all. Physical weakness was one thing, but it seemed to be a simpering, cowering wreck more often than not--afraid, trembling, in the face of no danger whatsoever.
It would be difficult to justify this one's survival, if his Lord demanded it. A twinge of worry twisted through his gut. But this was not Chaos-Two's fault, and he pushed that aside. "In any case, no, you are in no trouble. I find this interesting! Wings... It is a power, a strength. Khavur--yours, how is your flight control? Will you take Chaos-Two, when you are both able, to... let us say Leo; and there, low over the water, practice flight?" Wait- "-Can you both swim?" That seemed an important question to ask. But in any case, he could see the link these two shared, and this 'task' was more a kindness; an excuse to let them out together, to have a little trip to 'sun' and sea, to the sort of peace they both seemed to (for whatever silly reason) to enjoy so much. That said, learning to use their wings properly would also be useful to them both: a good lesson that they could teach one another, in practice and in play.
"As for the hunt itself, it sounds... of interest. I am glad you found such a challenge enjoyable; perhaps we will find further, similar trials for you in the future. Was this at a time you were allowed to roam without a guardian? Or did you take one with you?" he asked, studying Chaos-Two with an inscrutable expression.

"She is... manipulative," they mumbled, digging their claws into the grass, "Aside from her vulgar language, she's articulate when she wants to be. Selfish, cunning, and a little thief."
Chaos-Two was a bit ashamed of the fact that she'd managed to trick them. But she was doing as Vargas had created her to do, to be an assassin and a good one. Manipulative, smart, and brave. Or stupid.
They snapped out of their bitter thinking and looked up, ears forward. Swimming? They'd never tried.
"I'm not sure," they said, "I've dipped my hooves in water and that's about it."
They rubbed their hands together, "I don't think I was, but there were others who participated. Draconua was there, and Overseer- Orthoclase-Alpha. I think that everyone involved enjoyed it, even those observing. It wasn't exactly a game but many treated it like one, trying to stop one another or setting up obstacles for the hunters and hounds to try and get around. I fell behind but caught up during the final portion, which seemed to be enough to grant me the wings."

Apparently V-Agate-One was manipulative, selfish... and a thief? Khavur had never heard of anyone described as that before. Apparently, such a creature had also been made for Lord Dhracia. One of the ones not like them, built for taking so that the rest of them could stay...? Chaos-Two looked tense. Master Vargas' words felt like they would only add to that tension. A faint grimace fell over the large-horned head of the Reaver-- ah, but they were moving on.
Flight was, indeed, a good power. Good for everything! Mobility, strategy, raw force, and leisure, all bundled up into one. The possibility of training in flight with Chaos-Two, in Leo! A new cave! That sounded fantastic, actually. Oh, but swimming... "I, too, have never attempted swimming. " That was more what the Labradorite was built for. "...And my flight control is rusty. More practice should help." It had been a while since Khavur had tried flying, and its version of the practice was rather energy consuming. It took a lot of forceful wingbeats to keep a two thousand-pound, twenty three foot long monster in the air. Who would've thought?
And as for the hunt... Khavur had no thoughts on it. Sounded interesting, although it didn't need wings. Maybe watching would have been nice, had it known about the whole thing. Maybe it could've helped Chaos-Two keep up... hm.
Well, now they were back in this realm of Master Vargas' control. They couldn't really leave until dismissed, and once they were it might feel awkward, or at least more quiet as they both pondered. Talking with Master Vargas always left an impression on the mind, in Khavur's experience.

Vargas offered a light shrug, quizzical. "I do not know if she was manipulating you. But I do not know if she could fly yet, to clarify. It was not a risk worth taking, as cruel as it seems." And he was sure it did; he just didn't particularly care.
After the clarified description of the Wild Hunt, the Master tilted his head a little, considering. "Do you know whose magic that was?" he asked. And neither truly knew if they could swim. Hm.
"Find out if you can. If you cannot but it is not due to physical hindrance, find Labradorite, see if it can teach you. It seems skilled in water. And once you can swim, practice your flight for a few days. You may return to your... frolicking," he added, nodding off at the grass.
His tone gave no hint of what he made of such behavior.
