She inclined her head slightly to him, as if acquiescing that he had a good point, and then sat back and attempted to make sense of the legal jargon he rattled off. Plenty of the words only meant anything to her in the most abstract sense, but ultimately, as she listened, she decided that it all sounded rather reasonable. Still, her ear flicked. "As for the part about two cycles -- more time will likely be required, but if it takes me any longer than three, I will personally pay you a visit and let you know why."

She gave him a moment with his water, and then calmly reached out and placed her paw in the empty space of the contract. As far as she was concerned, he had no reason to lie to her, and she had no reason to try and deceive him. In fact, she rather liked him, all things considered -- though she wouldn't tell him that. He seemed like a creature who already had quite a big head on his shoulders.

He was about to withdraw the contract, to adjust the terms as requested, when Kitty pressed paw to parchment.

There was a flash; a smell of smoke, a thin tendril of it rising. A black pawprint was left marked on the page. "The contract is sealed," said the Collector. The page was briefly waved about, as if to dry it or let it cool; then clawed fingers rolled it up, tucking it beneath the folds of his cloak.

"A word of advice; always get your changes in writing. But certainly, three cycles is perfectly fine. I'll make a note of it," he added. "In the meantime, then--though it's been fun--I will bid you farewell; I look forward to the completion of our transaction."

He stood, and swept into a low bow; and waited for a moment for Kitty's response.

Kitty's eyes shone. "I suppose I was feeling naive enough to trust you." Still, there was humor in her tone -- she gathered her things together as he swept the contract away and hopped off the metal chair, mirroring his bow a little awkwardly (mostly because her midsection wasn't supposed to bend like that) and straightened herself back into a posture to walk.

"It has been a pleasure doing business with you, Collector. I hope I'll be seeing you again soon." With that, she nodded to him one last time and began to walk off -- notably though, as she made her exit, she did keep the cloaked figure in her periphery. She didn't really fancy losing track of anyone, not when she was so vulnerable on the ground.

He chuckled at her words, and crooned a good-natured-sounding "Ta ta." Then he watched her go, though before she was fully gone he was turning, tucking away his 'toys' within the folds of his cloak. Before she was out of sight, he simply vanished; a step, and gone, swallowed by thin air.
