We have some news for you today: updates, quest conclusions, and information and hints on things to come.
OTM Awards
First off,
OTMs: April's Of-The-Month awards have been announced. The
Character of the Month is
Nemo: a Lammergeier of the Bonebound who did his best in Ursa to try and keep everyone safe. His magic helped clear a path through the storm to save Gembound who might have otherwise been lost, and his progression as a kind and determined character has been a treat to see. The
Pair of the Month--
Nemesis and
Orthoclase-Alpha --can be seen in action
here, where impulsive kindness meets terrified trauma in a tragic clash. And if this thread gives you a taste for Chaos-induced interpersonal devastation sprinkled with a dash of powerful emotions, we can direct you to the
Thread of the Month: THEIR DESIGN, IGNITED. Member of the Month of April is Bluebird: Bluebird is friendly, helpful and quite frankly
awesome. As Nemo's player, Bluebird also handles the struggling violence of the dragon
Electrum and the in-training chaos of the latest Draco creation,
V-Chaos-Four.
Ursa Aftermath
With OTM summary out of the way, let's move on to current events! First off,
[Ursa Assault] Cry Havoc has come to a close, with the attackers being run out of Ursa by a combination of storm, an ice worm, and ill-preparedness. In the aftermath, Wyvern and Giggle have awoken beneath Ursa's tunnels, and are trying to make their way out
here, oddly aided--so it seems?--by one of Mother's Cleaners. This may be a result of Tahi-shei's bold acceptance of Mother's invitation for a little chitchat
here, which is chock-full of lore, philosophy and hard questions--assuming Mother is telling the
truth. Time will tell what happens, going forward, with Mother, Ursa, and their relationship to the caves as a whole--and the Gembounds and Chaos that dwell within.
The Black City
On to Upcoming--and ongoing! The Blacksmith has moved to Fornax with a collection of enchanted items, temporarily; he's waiting for Gembounds to arrive with "the Key," a mysterious stone previously retrieved and taken by a group of Gembound explorers. He can be found
here for those with questions, or who wish to join the upcoming assault on the mysterious Black City. What do we even know of it, yet..? What
is the Black City, and what dangers will the Gembounds face..? As soon as the key is returned, you'll all undoubtedly find out...
Group Events
Last call to join groups before GM Navy's "Group Quests" event begins! They've been quietly planning in the background to spring this on everyone... Hoo boy, do the groups have a lot in store. Each group will have a quest or event specifically tailored around their location and theme; rewards will include lost stones, unlocked spells, tactics and techniques, and more! A number of the unlocked abilities are those from our Suggestions list, carefully tuned for balance; we haven't forgotten your ideas!
DEATHMATCH!
We've mentioned this one before, but here--have an update! Nemean's now preparing Orion's forum for the fights; if anyone has questions for her, or for Vakornol--or if they simply want to watch--the pair can be found
here. You can also find a more detailed OOC information sheet, including a sign-up form,
here! This page includes general information, a timeframe (mid-July, tentatively!), mechanics, rules, scoring, info about deaths, and rewards and achievements! While signups are
optional (anyone can turn up on the day to participate), they will help us to plan for numbers and brackets, so if you have plans to attend, let us know there!
