He had ventured into Gemini and was lost for some time trying to navigate the labyrinth of crystals. At some point he had found a small hole chiseled into a geode and cleared it of dust so that he could settle and rest. He held the chrysalis piece close to his chest and curled into a tiny ball; he slept for some time, but was unsure for how long. When he woke, he found he was thirsty, and followed the sound of rushing water to a glowing pool fed by a short waterfall. Sam placed his treasure on the ground and stepped on it gently, so that he would not misplace it, and leaned forward to drink. It was cool and refreshing water, and it did not take much to satiate him.

Sam picked up the kunzite piece in his mouth and explored the surrounding area, coming across the strange rift in the crystal wall and staring at it curiously. It was far too high for him to reach, but what was it? His head tilted and he simply observed it for a moment, listening to its strange sound and becoming lost in its swirling, shimmering surface...

The rift was void of surprises today...

When it had nothing interesting to offer him, Sam shrugged and continued onward, skirting the edge of the glowing pool and heading toward the far end of Gemini. He did not know where he was going, but that was the point! To adventure! He paused for a moment and sat up on his hind legs, holding the lavender stone piece up to the light that gleamed through crystal facets. Sam...

He smiled to himself. There was so much to learn, so much to know! And he would get there. He would learn, and he would know! Sam set his eyes on the next tunnel and pushed forward, holding the shard between his teeth and venturing again into the unknown.
