Imp flinched again as the angry, tiny thing began to yank on his fur tufts. He wouldn't have minded the whole "bald spot" thing, really, though there was certainly some indignation there. That being said, a glance down showed him that the chick appeared to be failing at actually removing anything. She was just pulling, sort of ineffectively.

It did hurt though--not in a bone-break, flesh-tearing sort of way but more like when he flew a bit too low and stubbed his foot on the rock underneath and WOULD IT PLEASE STOP DOING THAT--

With a huff he let it go, retaliating by nipping at Kalama's downy feathers, trying to yank on--but not out--the tiniest pinch of them. Not a lot--he didn't know if it would bleed, and he wasn't really aiming to hurt it--but just a whole "eye for an eye" sort of thing. Even if that phrase was meant to be a call for fairness, rather than revenge.

"HEY! HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?!" he cried, letting her go at last.

The fur didn't give, which irritated Kalama, but most things did. She held on until she felt a tug on her feathers. She squawked in suprise, an already loose downy feather falling out. It didn't really hurt, but she didn't enjoy the tug on her feathers. But, atleast she was that much closer to having adult feathers, she thought proudly.

"It-It doesn't bother me! I don't feel anything!" She snapped at Imp. Kalama would fight dirty. Her attempt to go for the fur didn't work, but she could do worse. She briefly considered showing off her spur, making him afraid, but why do that when she could just bite Imp again and get the same satisfaction. So, with that in mind, Kalama charged Imp's wing. She'd show him weak spots. Her movements were growing sluggish, but she lunged, going for Imp's wing once again. She falls flat, much to her anger.

Imp stared, a little nonplussed, as the chick declared that she wasn't bothered--by anything, apparently. Imp decided then and there that he liked her spirit.

Equally both as helpful and mischievous as before, he decided on another lesson.

"Do you have magic?!" he demanded. "You can use that in a fight! YOU SHOULD use that in a fight!" With a short cough he tried to call on his magicka, his jaws snapping open--his intent to blast a short coursing stream of very hot air over Kalama's head, without hitting her directly. Hopefully she'd just feel the heat, and understand that he'd used offensive magic, without actually being harmed by it.

"LIKE THAT, DUMMY!" he went on, loudly.

"I don't use magicka." Kalama hisses. She spits the last word, as if the concept of magicka itself was an insult to her. "Magicka is for cowards."

She had been about to continue her rant, when Imp sent a blast of hot air rolled over her. She froze in suprise, beak parted, only unfreezing when she realized she was unhurt. Imp called her a dummy. Kalama was not a dummy. She'd show him dummy.

"I'm not the dummy!" She protests, almost childishly. "You're the dummy! I can use magicka if I want to." She snaps.

She glared at Imp as she pulled on her often neglected magicka , settling it into the one spell she knew, Char. Heat seeped into her tail and the top of her head, pain sparking as her down and feathers began to smoke, the fowl stench of burning feathers blossoming. She stomped her feet.

"Hows that for magicka." She says, voice cracking under her combined pain and anger.

It was then that she realized she had no clue how to use the spell offensively, completely distracted from attacking Imp once more.

Imp watched, and crowed out--"See? You do use magic!" his voice was triumphant, even mocking, and he added--"Don't burn yourself up!"

He moved back, doing his best to avoid Kalama's smoke. He certainly didn't aim to attack further. He did, however, call on his own magicka in an attempt to ignite himself--from within, in a sense; he knew this magic, if faintly, as the sort that made his feet catch things on fire... or ash, anyway.

"BUT CAN YOU DO THIS?" he demanded, loudly--then tilted his head to glance down at his foot.

...Nothing's hapening.

Thinking fast, the alligator-bat quickly spun in a circle on the ground. How exactly that was supposed to challenge Kalama, or what it was meant to teach her, was unclear. Surely Imp wasn't trying to mask the evidence of an entirely fizzled spell with a pointless dance.
