Cain nodded at its Master's curt answers as to where the Othoclase was. It had no interest in pressing the point, though it was curious as to how that encounter had gone. There was a slight twitch through Cain's wings, as their Master bid them farewell for now.

Now it was alone again with Aurelia, and it turned to her with a raise of its head and a flick of its ears. "Good," it mewled to her approvingly. "I suppose you are growing..." She seemed too small to be a full-sized-out-the-box Valkhound, but it was often hard to tell without giving it time. Regardless...

Magic sparked within Cain's body, filling it with a sixth sense as it turned toward the rest of the breathing cavern. "The first rat I controlled, for you to eat. You'll have to learn how to find and kill to sate your own hunger. Lesser rats, like the one I gave you, are fine to eat. Lesser creatures like this tend to look the same, and they do not speak or think beyond their base instincts. That is how you will tell them apart from a Greater." It gestured with its tail for Aurelia to follow as it prowled around Draco's grounds, following the distant, quiet heartbeats it felt from afar.

"It may take some time to learn the difference, and if you speak to a lesser it will probably startle and run away. For now, stick to the rats you find here. Later, I can show you lesser deer, which will sate your appetite better as they are larger." However, for now, rats were much easier to learn on. They could be dangerous in their own way, but that was why Cain was guiding her.

It drew to a stop beside one of the walls of Draco's massive chamber. Here, several broken oilstone chrysalis created debris and hiding spots for a pitch rat. There weren't many gathered here just now, which was good... Cain didn't relish the idea of its student getting mobbed.

"You're looking for a small, black creature with red or yellow eyes and a hairless tail. It's called a pitch rat," Cain explained in a hushed tone. "They can be aggressive, so it may fight back, but its unlikely to spook too easily. It will be easier if you find it before it finds you, so be quiet and see if you can spot it. If you can strike it before it knows you're there, you will succeed."

If not, there were other ways to succeed. If she had questions, she could ask them, but Cain's keen eyes were staring off into the shadows, waiting to see if she would find her prey.

Aurelia listened intently, nodding gently along with her Overseer's words. It would be very important that she learns the difference between a lesser gembound and a greater one. Though knowing that they all look the same, do not speak, nor act beyond their base instincts; well that would help her greatly. From everyone she had met thus far, well they all looked different, each unique to their own purpose and life. Where in comparison to the rat she had seen before and the one she was hoping to see now, perhaps they really would all look identical, visually and in their purpose as food too. Because now that she recalled the rat being dragged out from the darkness previously unseen, the lesser hadn't screamed, only in sounds of panic and surprise but no real words. Yes, that bit of information would help her greatly.

She soon followed her Overseer, careful in her walk; not wanting to spook a rat too early if she were to topple a small pile of rocks or anything of that like. She wasn't sure where they were going, all she knew was to follow and to trust with patience. She was rather excited to start looking for a rat, even more excited for the prospect of hunting lesser deer in the future. One step at a time though, she would try to not get too ahead of herself even if it was quite excitable.

They soon came to a stop and Aurelia took in the sights. There was debris littering the floor of Draco, and it seemed to be old and broken chrysalises much like her own back in Polaris. But she would examine tho perhaps later, she was to look for a pitch rat, a small black creature with red or yellow eyes-a hairles tail too. That shouldn't be too hard, her Overseer gave her a wonderful description. And paired with the fact she had eaten one before, she should recognize it rather hastily. Now, findining it, that was another story.

She nodded towards her Overseer, speaking up softly as to try and not startle any nearby pitch rats.

"Thank you Overseer, I will see what I can find."

She knew she could fit the rats in her mouth, quite easily. So as long as she could get her mouth around one of them it wouldn't be too difficult, right? But she was starting to get ahead of herself, she needed to locate one in order to even get her maw around and secure both victory and a meal. Though that already seemed to be proving perhaps a bit difficult. She moved slowly, walking over and around oilstone debris, and at one time she thought she had heard one but...seeing it was another matter. It must have fled before she could flicker her gaze towards it.

Though she did wonder something in particular...her Overseer was looking off into the darkness, were they able to simply locate them with little effort even so far away from where they had started this training...Perhaps she should have followed her Overseer's gaze as she was coming up rather empty in her first few moments of an attempt. But this was training, after all, it would take more than a couple of minutes, especially if she were to hunt something so small and skittish.
