"Indeed." Home is also just a concept to her - she doesn't have a place she's attached to like that. But maybe here wouldn't be that bad to make it?

She tilts her head when Bacchus speaks. "Maybe it is. But there were ones here before me. They have been here even longer." She wonders how long some of the Gembound she's seen from a distance have been around.

Tourmaline tilts her head. "I meant all I knew were these caves. But I've been to other ones than this one." I'd probably go crazy if I just stayed in one chamber, she thinks to herself.

"I've seen a few, but I mostly kept my distance. I was small, and they were big. The only one I really spoke to was the one who stumbled across me after my hatching."

There is a tilt of the cub’s head as he ponders the notion of there being more beyond simply caves to the world. It seems hard to believe, but it is an interesting concept. One worth future consideration.

Bacchus blinks, somewhat baffled, at the idea that the other feline could be smaller- already, as a newly emerged gembound, he’s about the same size as her. It suggests to him that he may be quite large, at least compared to some, when a few cycles pass for him.

“Oh?” Bacchus gives an inquiring noise as Tourmaline mentions having only spoken to one gembound before. Purple eyes look curious, but there’s a glint of something else behind the curiosity. “How did that go at the time?”

"He... his name was Asteri. He seemed lost at what to do, but he was nice," she offers. It had been a warm welcome, even with his trepidation. "He looked a lot like you. But he was older."

She fails to notice anything beyond Bacchus's curiosity - Tourmaline has plenty herself. She still feels like a child, despite all of her attempts to seem mature. As she watches him, her golden eyes shimmer in the dim light.

“Oh.” There is disappointment in the cub’s utterance, which causes him to mentally pause for a moment. Why is he disappointed?

“That is not much of a story,” Bacchus explains away his disappointment to Tourmaline, but he knows that’s not the full truth. He certainly wanted more of a story, yes, but he had been hoping…

He did not know what he had been hoping for from the tale. Something more and definitely different from what he had received. More what and different how, though, is the question. He wants to ponder this in more detail, but he’s in the middle of a conversation, he suddenly remembers.

Bacchus had visibly zoned out for a moment after speaking his explanation, purple eyes becoming distant.

“My apologies, I got lost in thought,” He offers as he returns to reality, expression warm as earlier.

She furrows her brows slightly. "There was not much of a story to tell. He gave me food, and then we talked." Tourmaline's not sure what she's supposed to give.

She watches him, even as Bacchus starts to space out. She tilts her head, as she realizes what's happening, only for him to snap back to here.

"I don't mind. I do it occasionally, too."

A soft rumble of a purr emerged from the leopard cub at Tourmaline's easy acceptance of his zoning out. "Thank you for understanding," Bacchus informed the other feline warmly.

He hesitated briefly, his mind still somewhat distracted. "...I believe a quiet walk would help me clear my mind. Is it acceptable if I do such, and then return to you when I'm done, Tourmaline?" Bacchus inquired politely.

His mind keeps circling around to the same questions, but it is difficult to analyze his reasoning and hold a conversation at the same time.

Tourmaline nods as she listens."That's alright. If you need to think, you can. We can meet up another time."

She starts to take a step, turning, but she looks at Bacchus one more time. "I've enjoyed this time with you. Good luck."

If we're lucky, we'll meet again.
