Adeyemi clucked, thinking over the question, watching as the newborn figured out how to eat the offered fruit. "Perhaps. It is very small to be a dog, however. Perhaps it is like the brown rat... thing? The one with one eye." Still, it didn't look terribly like that either, and the turaco huffed, rustling his wings, annoyed by the knowledge that he didn't have much of a clue as to what the child could be. "What I do know is that it is quick to learn," the chick murmured, eyeing the babe as it tucked into the mango.
"And it is not one of us. No feathers," he added, tone sprinkled with disappointment. His beak clicked in amusement when the tiny beast simply went to sleep, seemingly dismissing both he and Willow as potential threats. Adeyemi absently groomed a feather on the owlet's neck back into place, thinking. "What do you suppose we do with it? I doubt it would be safe, on its own." The turaco turned big eyes to Willow, in the way a child would, asking can we keep it?

Willow sighed quietly, though it sounded more like a faint hoot. "It does not appear to be particularly-..." the owl began in the never-changing soft tone, turning her head to Adeyemi. She blinked, now looking vaguely alarmed. "Why are you making that face?"
For a moment, the owl forgot about the sleeping Devil nearby, staring at the turaco. His stupid, vaguely adorable-looking face was distracting and very briefly tugged at the owl's heartstrings - but she was quick to turn her head away and fluff her feathers up, grumbling quietly. "I don't know," she said at last. "We should see if a dog or rat comes to find it."
She nodded slightly, content with this answer. She peered at the nameless creature and sighed once more, turning her head back to look behind them before facing forward again.

… But it seemed the other two had plans to keep her awake with all their chatter! She squeezed her eyes shut tighter as they continued speaking, especially the little bright-colored one. When they didn’t stop, she groaned and placed her paws over her face, grumbling wordlessly. Finally, there was blessed silence, and she gave a sigh of relief, briefly opening her eyes to glare at the two of them, and then huffed, turned so that her butt was facing them, and then laid down with a fwump and continued on trying to sleep. But sleep did not come easily. It was too bright and even without their talking, the noises of this place were never-ending. Birds chirped and mice and insects skittered across the ground, and the babbling sound of water from Eridanus’ many small streams were enough to make her want to scream in frustration.
She felt the gem at her throat begin to thrum, but a moment later it stopped and nothing happened. She had no idea what that was about because she didn’t even realize she could do Magic yet. The mini-earthquake she had created before had never in her mind been connected to her. She thought it had been the earth doing it. But none of that mattered, anyways, because her subconscious attempt at venting her frustration hadn’t worked this time. But the attempt had made her extremely tired. Now it didn’t seem to matter that there were loud noises everywhere. She had cast two spells within a very short amount of time, ate food, been born into this loud, irritating world… She was, apparently, done.
Her vision blurred, and before she even had time to be scared about the fact that she couldn’t see or hear anything anymore, she passed out, head falling to the ground limply.
OOC: She has literally passed out and cannot be awoken by normal means. She is unresponsive for the time being. Will have her wake up by the time it’s my turn again, though.

Adeyemi huffed, confused by the owlet's reaction, trying to backtrack and see if anything he'd said was any more offensive than usual. Nothing came to mind, and so the turaco shrugged it off, turning his brownish-red gaze back to the child. The little thing appeared to be attempting to sleep, but wasn't having the easiest time of it - until it suddenly dropped, as if knocked unconscious by an unseen force.
It made the chick jump up, hurrying over to the tiny beast, leaning down over it, looking for some injury to explain the reaction. Still, it appeared undamaged, and so the prince clicked his beak once, twice, before turning around and pacing, wings rustling with every awkward, waddling step. It took him a while to remember that he hadn't answered Willow, and he turned back to gaze at her, thankful to see that she hadn't been affected as the tiny rat-dog had. "I do not make faces, my dear," he demurred. "I was merely about to suggest that we try to care for the child, considering we came upon it first."
A glance back to said newborn made him wince. "I do, however, wish to retract that statement, in light of the fact that it has become mysteriously indisposed. Therefore I suggest staying away from it, lest it infect us with whatever disease it has contracted." Another nervous cluck, and Adeyemi trotted back towards Willow, plopping down next to the owlet with a coo.

The owl shook her head a little. "I do not believe newborns contain diseases, dear Adeyemi," the owl said. "Though, should worst case scenario occur, I do not believe you know any... experts, in disease, do you?"
Willow had already 'magically' appeared a safe distance away from the newborn once Adeyemi approached, sighing as she shifted to preen his head feathers. "If she does not awaken soon we should leave," she murmured into his head crest, eyes only half-open.
She wasn't particularly fond of Eridanus herself, and she knew Adeyemi hated the forest with every fiber of his existence. Maybe a little too much, considering he preferred the fruits here over mice that Willow would catch. She grumbled and huffed, lifting herself once more.

The Devil had only been out for a few minutes before she awoke again, this time with a pounding headache. She let out a groan of pain as she sat up. Now her head hurt too much to sleep. Had she known that it was the Magic that had caused the headache, she would have shunned Magic outright in that moment, but as it was, she had no idea what had just happened. She continued to whine like a spoiled child as her head pounded, and looked over at the two other Gembounds, as if they could do something to help.
Truly, Akshayaa was a helpless little creature. She tried to express to them what was hurting her, but she still knew no words. Though one did bubble to the surface, almost instinctively. She said in a very childish way, “Owwwieeee!” Then she laid back down and placed her paws over her head and repeated, “Owwww!” But the loud noise of her own exclamation only added to the pain, so she stopped trying to talk and settled for pathetic whimpering instead. How long was this headache going to last? And why did her head hurt so much in the first place? Why was life so hard?

Adeyemi tilted his head to allow Willow better access to his crest feathers, cooing in agreement - and at the use of 'dear.' "Yes, I do suppose it would be wise to leave so-" Unfortunately, the rest of his sentence was cut off by a yell of pain from the newborn, and the turaco startled, turning to glare in annoyance at the child. Huffing, the chick slowly got to his lightly toasted feet, hobbling over to the moaning babe, softening his gaze at her obvious distress. The prince hummed softly, tilting his head this way and that, before finally shrugging and sitting down next to the tiny thing, reaching out to preen the short fur that covered her head.
For once, the rather famously chatty bird shut up, seemingly content to try and help in the only way he knew how. Every so often, he glanced back towards Willow, hoping he was doing the right thing - Adeyemi didn't fancy facing that disappointed look the owlet used so well any time soon. Its head must be harmed in some way, the royal thought to himself. Perhaps from the hatching? The idea brought to mind his own permanently charbroiled feet, and the turaco winced. Yes, that seems likely.

Instead of the look of disapointment that was seemingly frozen on her face, there was a vague look of contentment as Willow nodded gently at Adeyemi. She trotted forward, very quietly speaking, more to Adeyemi.
"We should take her to water," The owl looked back down on the Devil before she lifted her head again, looking around. Eventually she spoke more loudly. "Come."
She began walking through the forests; though not for long. She stopped in front of a small stream and then and only then turned her head to see if either of them had even bothered following her.

Aksha didn’t notice the colorful bird’s approach until she felt his beak preening the fur on her head. Half of her wanted to pull away, but the feeling was actually quite soothing. She could feel her headache lessening the more he did it, so she tried to relax and let him keep at it. She laid her paws beside her head and remained quiet – for once. This was a nice feeling…
The other bird said some things, and then began to hop away. Aksha could only tell all this because she could hear the female’s shuffling steps growing quieter. But her eyes remained closed, waiting to see if the smaller male would follow, or stay where he was and pet her some more. She didn’t really want to move. She liked being where she was, getting attention. But she supposed if he left too, then she would try to follow. She didn’t know that that was what the owl wanted in the first place. She gave a sigh of contentment and continued to lie there obliviously.

Adeyemi's chest feathers puffed up with nerves when Willow came closer, though the look on her face made him settle a bit, returning his attention to the tiny Gembound on the ground. We should take her to water. Gently, the turaco stopped with his grooming, craning his neck to watch the owlet as she began to walk away. Unsure of what, exactly, to do, now dropped into the proverbial deep end of the fathering pool, Adeyemi clucked, leaning down to eye the babe worriedly. She certainly looked healthier, now... perhaps she was some sort of strange bird, as well?
Shrugging the thought off, the chick glanced about, and with a sigh, moved a bit closer to the kit, nudging her with a soft coo. "Little one, we must move." A hesitation, and the prince turned to peer at his own back, then to the child, and back again. "Ah... well, I suppose I could try to carry you, but it might be a bit of a bumpy ride," he offered, amusement lightening the words. Even as a newly hatched babe, the other Gembound was already about Adeyemi's size.
A rustling of wings, and the bird huffed, leaning down to pluck her off of the ground and plopping her on his back, legs almost buckling under the weight. "Well, it's either this or you'll have to walk," he wheezed out, moving his wings to make sure she wouldn't fall off accidentally, but could still climb down a wing to escape.
