Erasmus seemed to quickly accept his suggestion, much to his own relief. His purple eyes fell back into their usual blinking pattern or lack thereof.

"You're tired," He observed, witnessing the yawn. It made sense, Erasmus had been going through a lot of emotions and difficulties. Honestly, Alek was fairly tired too.

Alek curled up, leaving a space under his wing. "Come here, we will sleep," It was somewhat imperative in tone, but Alek was pretty sure that was what the other gembound needed right now, to listen.

To that end, Alek began to hum. Erasmus had seemed to find that soothing before.

As soon as Erasmus was asleep, Alek would quickly doze off as well. His own resting had been difficult as of late. But for now, until Erasmus was safely under his wing, Alek would stay awake.

The younger entity obligingly moved close to the their protector, settling under his wing. They then curled around the Raspite stone, not letting it go.

Alek's voice soothed them, though they did not deserve to be soothed. They would never voice it, they decided, but a thought had occurred to them.

If family was important much in the same way a gemstone was, essential to life, then Alek was their family now. Even if they were not Alek's family in exchange. Even if they had killed a member of Alek's family.

The large entity was important as breathing, if not more so. Alek gave them purpose in the aftermath of it all.

Soon enough, tired as they were, the vampire dozed off, sheltered by the large wing.
