Conquest was exuberant, Death thought with fond amusement. "Brother, I am not certain if our winged sister and brother can fly yet," he commented, recalling the flightless beating of War's wings.

"I am glad we are all together," Death added, clear fondness in their tone for all their siblings. "It is barren here... So lacking... As if the world ended," Death added in their drifting tones.

A word came for them suddenly. "Like... an apocalypse," they stated, considering this word. "An end. But it is our beginning. We are... Apocalypse," they half-stated, half-suggested.

"War, if you find your wings cannot support you, brother, you are welcome to stay on me until they do," they told their brother, voice calm and without judgement.

"If you think it best for me to ride on you, Conquest, then that is our plan," they agreed easily. They were glad their mushrooms might help.

War. Conquest. Death. She did well to commit those names to memory. And plans, of course. The cave-light beat down relentlessly, baking the dusty earth. So she would be sent to search.

She nods to Conquest, a husky rasp serving as an affirmative. She shifts her wings, stretching them out to feel them out. With a shake to free them of any last chrysalis fluid, take a deep breath.

She stretches out her legs, charging forward as best she can, pumping her wings. Her feet leave the ground, for a moment - but that's all she gets. She's snagged on the dry brush, and crashes into a heap in the sand and dust. A shrill cry emerges as something twists painfully. Ow. Ow. Ow. Everything hurts.

"HAA HAAAA!" The bird screeched in excitement, "YES! CONQUEST!" And now it was being instructed to survey the land. From above? War flapped his wings again as if believing in himself would make it possible, but alas, it was not. He still held remnants of fluff as he was not fully grown yet, and it would take some time before his feathers would allow for flight.

"WINGS OUT OF COMMISSION! WILL STILL ALERT FOR DANGER!" he proclaimed, taking Death's offer and jumping onto his back if he allowed.

And it was not before long that they had their first announcement. "ALLY DOWN! I REPEAT, ALLY DOWN!" It was, of course, referring to Famine who had crashed into the ground. "ASISSTANCE NEEDED!" War would not be the one to help. He was just there to tell them that it was needed, and just yell about who knows what in general. After all, he was too small to be of much use just yet. Nor did he have the strength to lift her up.

For a moment, he did believe the condor would be able to take flight, even if the hummingbird could not. But he regretted the order as soon as she crashed into the dry brush, swiftly cantering forward to assist. "I am sorry - are you hurt?" He quickly used a hoof to unwind the branch that had caught on her talon and pushed his head down to offer her assistance in rising again.

"It's okay. Come, I will help. We will walk together, then, and watch for danger as one. Are you alright?" He repeated, fussing and checking over the bird for any damage or injuries his hasty, foolish order had caused.
