Ears twitched and perked towards Niru as he inquired about which one was hers. A soft smile curled across her features as she turned her gaze towards the turquoise gem that safely encased her child. "Cure. Cure is my child. Remedy is Bevy's. They are lucky to have you as a brother," Her smile seemed to widen as she looked back towards Niru, no longer as tense as she had first been. If Cancer approved of this lion, even took him in as his own child, then Amaria would see to reminding herself that he was of no danger to the twins.

The lions soon spoke to each other about Eridanus and her tail twitched thoughtfully. They had both been born in Eridanus while she, herself, had been awoken within the riverbed of Polaris. Before the lights had turned on and the river flowed through it's new path. Xander's words of being a Nomad intrigued Amaria for a brief moment, bringing her attention towards him with a thoughtful expression. For a moment she wondered what that was like. Not being bound to a certain area. It was all she remembered. From the day Leon and Makyna brought her to PIsces, she had only known of a life filled with only that of a group. Of course, here lately it hasn't done much to constricting what she wanted to do. If that were the case she would not be here, nor would her child behind her be growing safely.

Alexander could only make himself the noble prince his father wanted him to be for so long. He was a cub still, young and restless and he quickly grew tired of the conversation. Still, he was naturally polite, so he quietly sat and listened and did not interrupt the older Gembounds’ conversation. Another name was introduced – Bevy – and his tail twitched curiously, but he remained silent. Cure and Remedy… Interesting names for babies. They were both words that had meaning other than being names. Meanings that… were medicinal. This made him curious (for when was he ever not curious?)

He waited for a lull in the conversation, so as not to be rude, then said, “Lady Amaria, are you a healer? The names chosen for the young ones would suggest that you or someone you know has a background in healing.”

Yet more words flowed from his mouth. He had stumbled a bit last time, trying to remember the word ‘nomad,’ but now the fancy language came to him easily. He would, perhaps, never be as well-spoken as his father, but he didn’t mind that. He loved learning new things, even speaking in ways that made his head spin, but learning to speak like a Royal was not something that he was naturally inclined to do. On the other hand, tell him to go track down and kill a deer, and he would happily excel at such a physical challenge. Unfortunately, King Adeyemi didn’t seem to like watching him hunt very much…

amaria's kind words allowed for a small grin to spread my lips, and if i could blush, i would. jaded lenses observed her for a moment before fluttering to the ground then back up again.
"well thank you, miss. i'm glad to be. cancer instructed that i take good care of them, and not only do i invest my time and strength into it for the sake of obeying him, but also because i view them as siblings. and only to hear you say that, confirms that my time here is not wasted."
i spoke aloud, as if to reassure myself of my duties.

my eyes glided toward alexander - err, xander - and watched as he questioned a rather mature question for his age. the grin never faltered, and only strengthened when he inquired amaria. i couldn't help but give a chuckle.
"my my xander, you are quite the mature boy for such a young age."
in fact, he reminded me of myself. so young yet, oddly matured for being hatched only a few days -weeks? - ago. my attention spanned between the both of them, listening for what amaria had to say in return to xander's inquiries.

Ears pushed forward as Alexander's words reached her. Her brows furrowed and she gave a meager smile with a small shrug of her shoulders. "I am, unfortunately, not a healer. That would be Bevy. Cancer kind of picked out the names though. At least for my child...I'm not sure who decided on Remedy," For a moment her gaze wandered back towards the Chrysali just behind her and a softness etched its way across her features. She couldn't even begin to attempt describing how she felt about the twins. She knew there may be others who would perhaps scorn the children, just on the basis of who fathered them. IF they did, though, Amaria would correct their behavior regardless if she saw them as family or not.

Shaking her thoughts she turned her attention to the males once again and listened. "I am more...of a sensory user. I guess you could call it that..." She frowned for a moment, not quite sure what to actually call it. She knew Cancer had similar traits in magic as she did, there was a few things he could do that she couldn't, but she assumed she would some day learn them herself. "What can you guys do?"

Wow. It seemed everyone was full of praise today, and Xander swore he’d never blushed so much in his life. Being called mature… He had to silently disagree, as there were times where all he wanted to do was hunt or play, but… still, the compliment was appreciated and he sort of laughed abashedly and ducked his head at Ser Niru’s words. To have something less embarrassing to focus on, he turned his attention to Lady Amaria. He smiled politely when she explained that she was not a healer, and that someone else had picked out the names of the soon-to-be children.

But when she asked Ser Niru and himself what ‘they could do,’ Alexander was a bit stumped. He’d never… really done any Magic. None at all, actually. He didn’t even know any spells. His father had explained to him about Magic, and how there were different types, but Xander had no idea if even had any Magic of his own. He was most definitely equipped with strength and stamina, but when it came to this Magic, he didn’t seem to have… what was necessary to wield it. His brows furrowed as he slowly came up with a response.

“I… can’t do Magic. Maybe… I just haven’t been able to access it yet. Or, maybe… I don’t have any.” He paused. “Not that it bothers me, of course. I am strong and quick, and I excel at hunting. And my father is teaching me to… hone my talents.” He shook his head. Enough about him. “And, Ser Niru,” he said, turning to the other lion, “What of your talents?”

Xander originally had every intention to stay and listen to their words. He was a polite lion, even so young, and under normal circumstances, he would never have just gotten up and left the way he did. However, his stomach rumbled embarrassingly soon after his questions for Niru. He tried to ignore it, but the more he tried, the hungrier he felt. At some point, he realized he could no longer ignore his angry stomach. With a bow of his head to his acquaintances, he apologized profusely, insisted that he would meet them again, and then left quickly to go hunt. Had his father been around, he would have been embarrassed by his son, no doubt, and Xander felt a little shameful for leaving the way he did. But he could not ignore the craving for fresh meat that clawed at his belly. Already his bloodlust -- his need to hunt -- was getting him "into trouble."

Amaria inclined her head towards Alexander as he bid his farewell with apologies. She only offered a smile, knowing that the pangs of hunger could easily drive anyone out of a gathering just to be satiated. Finally she turned her gaze to Niru with a thoughtful gaze. "I am sorry, but there is something I have to do...I will be back shortly though so that you may take a break from watching over the children," She gave an apologetic smile before she rose to her paws. She needed to find someone, to talk to them and see how they would respond. It would all help in the decision she would eventually have to make. She hesitated in her spot for a moment before finally turning and making her way towards Pisces. She needed to find Leon....
