Macawi listened to Baratheon as he responded to her words. He seemed a bit unsure of himself, so she nodded encouragingly to show she was listening and that she understood. They spoke for a while longer, exchanging bits and pieces of their separate wisdoms between one another. At some point, Macawi fell asleep, and when she awoke, Baratheon was gone. How he had disappeared without waking her up was a mystery. She chuckled to herself. “Perhaps Dragon knows how to be sneaky, after all,” she said aloud.

Little did she know that this conversation would be the last she ever had with her friend. In the coming cycles, she would see less and less Gembounds in the Caves, and some of her old friends would disappear forever… Baratheon among them.
