He tried not to laugh, but how could he help it? Seeing this all end like it did, Saudade had ended up falling over himself and laughing at what he saw. Chuckling from the depths of his belly his eyes were squinted shut as he found the entire mishap utterly hilarious.

How silly! A graceless dog, a wet bird, and the poor luck of the poor girl that -

Oh, wait.

He blinked, opening an eye and then the other to look again at the girl that had gotten pulled into this entire mess. He looked at her, baffled and shocked. Oh, that was... She. Wasn't it?

Clearing his throat he began to sit up, staring at her fixedly until the sound of Azazel and Beau broke his concentration.

Oh. Right. He had been doing something.

"Good job Beau," Saudade said, a little grin twisting his wolfish features into a very foxish expression. His pale eyes twinkled mischievously as he looked from the gold dog to the now drenched bird. What was he planning? Nothing, since his plan had already been a success, and the slightly-displeased-and-mostly-soaked-to-the-bone expression of Azazel was its own reward.

Though, getting she wet wasn't exactly part of the plan. He glanced again to the leggy girl - she wasn't a wolf as he thought she had been all that time ago. She was... a deer. He believed that's what they were called. Like a very big Fortune.

Walking (much more gracefully) down the rest of the slope that led to the pool, he entered the water with the refinement of a princely being. He wasn't sure, but as he looked between she and his mates... Well. He cleared his throat awkwardly, "Uhm... This is..." He looked at her sidelong, pausing because he realized something important. He didn't really know her name after all.

Beau was happily oblivious to most goings-on around him, and this time was absolutely no different. He took in each word and each creature as they came to him, never really putting two and two together. Or when he did, he usually got five, which was entirely incorrect. But he didn’t care. He was Beau. And Beau was happy. Right? Right. Beau perked up when Aza asked if he had run into him. “I’s sorry, Aza!” he said, tail wagging happily and contradicting his words. “I’s bumped into your butt! Knocked you down into the water for a bath!” He was entirely unaware that he wasn’t supposed to mention the bath part, but it’s not like it mattered now anyways.

Then he heard Saudade tell him he did a good job. What he did a good job with the Golden Retriever didn’t know. But he panted and wagged his tail and wriggled in joy for doing it, anyways. “I’s did a good job! Made Saudade happy! Yay!” Then he watched the fox-wolf-dog go over to a… pretty creature-thing with pale fur and really long legs – like Sau! Even though they looked nothing alike, Beau instantly decided that they were the same creature. Because in his mind, that made the absolute most sense. He bounded forward, accidentally interrupting Saudade’s introduction, and attempted to lick the girl-Saudade all over in greeting. “I’s Beau! Happy ta meetcha! You’s gonna join Bonebound too! You’s join! Then you’s be with Saudade forever! Right?” He looked around happily, tail thumping in the water and flinging droplets all over the place.

ooc: hurray for being too lazy for a table.

---

Azazel watched the golden boy happily speak of bumping into him. But he straightened like a plank as Beau mentioned a bath. Nope, nope, nope! Giving one single squawk, The Bone King stood up in the water and waddled forth and away from the direction of Saudade. Soon, he'd spread his wings wide and try to shake himself off. Then.

It was time to escape.

Flapping his wings hard, the bird would try to take to the air. But his undersides were too wet and his wings couldn't support that extra weight. The bird had risen from the waters a few inches, but he plopped back down onto his stomach. "OOF!" He squawked, rising and shaking himself once more. "Fine. I'll take a bath. BUT. I'm giving it to myself. Nobody else. Just me." Then he'd begin to preen himself, nosing through his own feathers and plucking out those that were ready to fall out.

She had been watching the hill for this Saudade thing to arrive, or whoever had orchestrated this awful horrible bath thing. Her eyes locked onto whoever made that small coughing sound, and she was surprised to see Wolf rising over the hill, staring at her very intensely, as if the Wolf was equally as surprised to see her there.

Was..was the Wolf's name Suadade? Could someone have two names? Well, that was hardly fair, she didn't even have one.

The Wolf....aahh, now she was confused as to what to call it! It walked with utter grace, with that cocky grin that flooded her with both annoyance and affection, and congratulated the Beau for...being completely clumsy, apparently. Her eyes didn't leave it until it was next to her, trying to introduce her, and the Beau suddenly attacked her with love and kisses all over the place, making her laugh, for the Beau was wonderfully ridiculous.

The Beau mentioned something about the Bonebound? Was it another creature? What?? What a frightening name! But if she joined the Bonebound, she'd be with the Wolf?? She looked to the Wolf, utterly confused, eyes wide and a little desperate in hopes for some sort of explanation.

When the water flicked in her eyes from the happy Beau thumping his tail, she rather thought she needed a bath too, at this point. The...weird...creature...thing, tried to escape this whole ordeal, and flapped its really strange legs, but other than jumping a little, accomplished little, and then accepted its fate. Really though, what was it hoping to do, fly away? Really.

"W...what is the B-boooone-bone-booun-bound?" She asked the Wolf quietly.

Had he skin instead of fur, he would have been quite a rosy color. As amused as he was with Beau's limitless affection for the world and its creatures, what the yellow dog said so light-heartedly made his face feel a little hot. Why would the dog say such a thing anyway? What made him think they ought to be together forever? Forever was a long time, after all. And she...

He glanced her way, his eyes flickering away when he felt her peepers cast in his direction. He couldn't gauge her reaction properly at all. What did she think about what Beau said? Well, if she wanted to...

"Beau, Azazel can't be eaten by the monster. You gotta help him get the places he can't reach." Saudade mumbled, his attention moving to their fearless leader who looked like a sunken rat. Beau's nonsense aside, there was a mission at hand! Right? He pawed the water pensively before splashing it towards Az's direction.

He considered ignoring her wispy, light-spoken question.

"It's..." What was the Bonebound? He couldn't help but think it Azazel's job to explain it. But... "All of us. Together. Beau, Azazel, Fortune, Bravo..." He rolled his shoulders, "… A family. Sort of."

Misfits, to be fair. But she wasn't really a misfit, was she?

Beau watched in awe as Aza lifted himself up into the air – and then dumbly panted happily as the bird fell back onto his stomach. He didn’t really understand that escape had been on his leader’s mind. Instead, he thought maybe they could play together. He took one leap at Aza, intent on giving his birdie friend lots and lots of slobbery kisses, and then skidded to a halt and face-planted into the water when he heard Aza say that only he would give himself a bath, and no one else! The big slobbery puppy-dog let out a whimper, and then sat down with a huff, straightening up. He was a good boy, after all. He would obey his master, who, was basically everyone in the Bonebound – but mostly Aza.

Beau had no idea that what he had said about Saudade and Clover could cause so much embarrassment for the two of them. And that hadn’t been his intention at all. He happily listened to the two of them speaking to one another, hoping Clover would join so that he could have another [s]master[/i] playmate. Sau was right to describe the Bonebound as a family. Beau considered everyone here family! He loved all of them equally! And if Clover joined, he would love her too. He wagged his tail some more at the thought.

Oh, he hated this. Clover wanted to know about the Bonebound, but he couldn't be too useful now that he was sopping wet. He had to escape now, or force himself to explain.

Shaking himself negligibly, Azazel would stretch his wings out and pump them hard. Water clung to his feathers still yet, but at least now he could actually maneuver in the air. Saudade was distracted and Beau was sad. He'd have to say no to that face for the first time ever. Trying not to look back, The Bone King made his escape. He'd hide up in his den for a while. Surely nobody could get to him from there. Yes... that was an excellent plan. The ave gave a small cry, ascending to the low roof of the cave and grazed it with his back. He made it! Now he had to get to his nest in the chambers. That wasn't all that far, right?
