This was.. this was...
This was
exciting.
Recruited through luck and circumstance, through a fluke of who happened to be around just at the moment of his hatching, Euron had committed himself-- foolishly, perhaps, but undyingly-- to following Kingsfoil and thus, by extension, Hasira. The stags had promised there was an honor in this, that as herbivores they were
better. Euron had pondered this extensively, internally, and had found it to be true-- eager as any thinking thing to find himself superior, with no reason
not to, but for a lingering-but-usually-easy-to-ignore-and-something-he-would-never-admit-to sense of guilt over the treatment of Ashtoreth. Like every person who gave into the call of supremacy, he had written it off, wrapped it in a gentle logic so deeply ingrained it formed a part of his reality, something he could not easily be convinced to let go. Herbivores didn't have to kill to do something as banal as eating, and that made them more noble-- if they killed, it was becuase they
chose to, always. Because the thing they had killed was worthy of killing, objectively, not out of some lesser and baser urge like hunger. Herbivores killed with reason.
And the idea that there might be other reasons besides hunger for a carnivore to kill hadn't occurred to him. That carnivores were actually
people, with as rich and vibrant life experiences as he had also hadn't occurred to him. They were blind murderers, and that came at the cost of their sapience, as far as he was concerned-- and his interactions with Ashtoreth, meek and mostly-silent as she was, had done little to counter that.
And so, sheltered and totally convinced of his own righteousness, Euron stood beside the other herbivores, readying for the attack that would come so anxiously soon. Hasira,
proprieter of the herbivore loyalty, was preparing them for that. Euron didn't know that the carnivores were aware, already massing for the first attack. He didn't know how tired this argument was, or how brutal war was. He only knew that soon, they would be fighting, and that filled him with a vibrating kind of excitement edged with anxiety.
He could barely stand to wait.
((STICK'M UP Y'ALL! EURON'S GONNA FIGHT ALL YOU CARNIVORES HIMSELF AW YEAH! YOU WONT KNOW WHAT HIT YOU!
<.< I kid i kid please don't totally kill my idiot baby))
