Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
((Timeline mismatch; forgot to point-blank specify that Zeno woke up one day before the great darkness in first post. I can work around seeing the insects and the gem due to his species but the rest of the initial wonder- personal awe at Orion's brilliant stars, beautiful view of the city- is no longer valid with characters talking about the great darkness. Since a request was put in in the cbox I've added the tag. No worries on it though, y'all have fun :) ))
As Zeno huddled in the broken fire agate the voices behind him grew more intense and more agitated. In such a short time he felt he had seen both the greatest good and the greatest bad of the world. Life, beauty, wonder, death, conflict, fear... all these things were a part of the new life. From his innate knowledge gained in slumber he had known of these things, but to experience them first-hand had taken him by surprise. It occurred to the small bat as fear gripped his chest that there was no immediate danger, that his current mental torment was a result of not accepting the wretchedness of the world along with its blessings. Yes, even the fear was natural, but he had let the feeling take over and consume all else.
Little Zeno took a deep breath, for breath was one of the blessings of the world he had thus-far taken for granted. The voices behind his faded into the background as he forced himself deep into his own thoughts. He was in no physical danger at this time, this he could now plainly see. Even if he had been in danger there was nothing to fear from death, with death being only a gateway into the next state of being just as hatching had been the gateway into this one. Had he been afraid of hatching? No, though like in this life he had desired to stay as long as he could.
Fear began to fade from the small bat's chest, and with it the wisping lights that were attempting to seal him back in his old world. The argument continued, but here he was now simply occupying his mind with things that might have happened, or might happen still and finding acceptance of them. He wouldn't let himself be so mentally unprepared again.
A few moments passed and Zeno came to the realization that his continued presence was no longer valuable to the situation at hand. He had seen that there was more to discover and at the moment there was no reason why he should stay locked away in a world that no longer existed. True he might go out and meet a creature that desired him harm, but if that happened he would either survive or die based on his ability to react accordingly. There was no need to agonize over such possibilities; if he acted as he had this time and panicked then surely he would face death when life had been an option.
With a newfound serenity lulling him in an almost trance-like state Zeno stealthily crawled out of the gem and across the wall out of sight. There was no need to disturb the others; their current actions were outside his control. He could possibly control, however, how he exited. If he was sneaky enough it would enable them to continue their business without worrying about him.
To the edge of the cliff now, his instincts gathered from the first world telling him there was no harm. With a another deep breath of air he cast himself off and spread open his tiny wings, gliding down to the foliage below.

Zeno attempts Other ( Sneak away without being seen or heard )
Astaroth was done with this owls' insolent arrogance. Did he think that he was the only one that mattered here!? He made a fucking mistake! Now get over it you stupid owl! It's not as if you haven't done stupid shit yourself! He snarled and took a step at the owl"Why does it even matter!? I did something stupid ok?? It' not as if you haven't. And maybe you weren't dying but you were weak enough that you wouldn't be able to hunt, in Orion especially! You were lucky I found you when I did! That rat would have eaten you if I hadn't killed it! As for why I refuse to give up? I DON'T FUCKING GIVE UP! And maybe I want to be friends, have you thought of that in your little masterpiece of a mind? And, again, I can merely suggest that you eat, this was a suggestion. Not a command." Astaroth was starting to growl, the original anger he had felt at the owls tantrum had come back, he was finding it difficult to not attack the owl, if he didn't choose his words wisely there would be a problem.

Tacitus stared, eyes narrowing slightly as the wolf stepped forward, more aggression... Pointless at this point. His voice was raised, swear words being spoken as he tried to get his point across. Tacitus noted it... and yet... He just couldn't bring himself to care anymore. The wolf was trying to escalate the situation, getting angry at his questions. What was there to get angry about? Just answer without the added emotion. Better yet... Why were they still arguing this? Why had he gotten out of the answer with a simple "he did something stupid"? There had to be a reason and yet he wouldn't give one. He stated he wouldn't give up? Well, then what was the point in even arguing anymore? If he wouldn't budge and Tacitus was certain that his own views would not change then they were just going around in pointless circles. Futile. A waste of time.
His voice when he spoke was measured, calm, and foremost... aloof just like he was stating facts to any random person. He was done with his anger at this point for to be angry at what was now the past was a waste where his time would better be spent elsewhere. "No. I did not think of that in my mind. My mind is no masterpiece, it works just as any other individuals mind but as we are all individuals we all work and think differently. If that makes sense to you. You thought we could be friends, no such thought ever came to me. We just met. We are acquaintances, nothing more. The pair of us know nothing about each other to form any such basis of 'friendship'." Perhaps they could have been friends but he wasn't sure he'd want to be friends with the wolf at all if he was insistent getting so emotional after one meeting. Perhaps he should make such things clear after meeting someone, or perhaps refuse offers of "friendship" like prey.
In the end, they weren't going to agree here. Astaroth thought he was weak and starving, Tacitus was convinced he would have made it a while long especially with the bugs and other available fauna. "Regardless, this is pointless. We are arguing in circles and wasting both of our time. We will agree to disagree. As I said before, you go your way and I'll go mine." He glanced sideways and saw that the bat seemed to have disappeared. A sigh escaped his beak at the observation but again, bringing it up would be pointless, especially with how emotional the wolf seemed.
Astaroth was done, he felt that this owl was mocking him, and saw him in a light of stupidity, of pointless emotion. He growled and advanced on the owl. "You go your way and I go mine? No, I think not, I think I go my way and you either move quickly or feel my teeth. I may be a little older than when they were coming in but they are still just as sharp. Now, enough talk." Astaroth lunged at the owlet, trying to grab him around the neck and throw him against the wall of the cave.

ROLL 3
Astaroth attempts Physical Combat ( Grab Tac and throw him against wall of cave )
The wolf lunged. He wouldn't listen to reason, wouldn't leave peacefully... He just attacked. The wolf's face came for him, teeth lunging to grab at him but Tacitus was quick. Despite his lack of nutrition he managed to flutter briefly into the air, his small wings rapidly flapping to get him above the wolf's flashing fangs. However, he wouldn't allow this injustice to pass. With narrowed eyes he hovered as long as his tiny body would allow, which was only for a few seconds but that was enough.
"You are being foolish." And for the foolishness, he would be punished. His talons, young but still lethally sharp, lashed out at the wolf's face. Aiming to cut him across his eyes, possibly blinding him or possibly just being enough of a deterrent to make him leave. "Be gone from here!" He didn't want to fight but if the wolf would insist then he would respond in kind. Still... It was a waste and if he could, he would leave.
Astaroth chuckled as the owl slashed at him, pulling just short of his face as he dipped his head a fraction of an inch."You think that you would be fine hunting and living on your own in this state? I'm an easy opponent. The lessers are even worse than me." He pulled back his lips as he advanced, showing his canines, white, seemingly glowing against the dark, still with a small hint of red from the rat though. He lunged at the owl again, trying to grab him by the neck again and throw him.

The wolf dodged his swipes, head lowering to pull him away from the deadly talons. More words sprang from his mouth... Pointless words reiterating what he had already said. Again, the owl didn't understand the concern. "Are you not trying to kill me now? What is the difference?" What was he trying to prove? He just didn't understand.
The wolf lunged for him, fangs coming towards his neck as he landed back on the ground. The owl flapped his wings and attempted to rise again to dodge. He just managed to hop above the wolf's head, fangs grazed his tail feathers as he escaped, unscathed and landed a few feet away. He turned to look at the wolf briefly before staring around at the immediate area, surely there was an escape route from the maddened wolf? Perhaps in one of the buildings? He could escape into a tunnel and wait until the beast left.
Astaroth was sick of hearing this owl speak. He knew nothing of what this world was like, he would learn. "Kill you? No no no. I just want to hurt you, really, really bad. Give you a taste of what this world will give you if you don't have a little protection." Astaroth jumped at the owl, trying to grab his wing and pull him to the ground.

ROLL 8
Astaroth attempts Physical Combat ( Grab his wing and pull him to the ground )
Hurt him? What was the point? That seemed to be the theme of the day. "I do not need or want protection from someone like you." Someone who felt the need to hurt without true cause. As far as he was concerned he would be happy if he never saw this canine again in his life.
The wolf lunged for him, he attempted to hop away but was not as quick and he felt something grab the tip of his wing, pulling at feather and skin and causing an uncomfortable pain in his wing. He could feel the start of blood flowing from a new wound but he did not cry out, he was more annoyed that this might be a hindrance later. He was also annoyed that he could go nowhere with this wolf holding him but with his face so close he left himself open to attack. The owl darted his beak forward, the sharp tip aiming to bite at the wolf's eye. If he wanted to hurt him then he would hurt the wolf right back. He just wanted to leave and be on his way to do more research, he did not have time for this childish nonsense.
Astaroth grinned as he held the owl down, tasting the little bit of blood that got into his mouth when he bit down on the owls' wing "This is what the world is like, as for protecting you? No thank you. I don't protect egotistical morons who only know logic and can't seem to grasp how much emotions effect others. Now, should I bite your wing or your leg? You choose, eh, I'll choose." Astaroth bent down to bite his leg, meaning to grab it and break it.
