Imperia succeeded in landing on the dragon again, and was quick to dig their claws in to get a good grip. It wasn't long before the dragon tried to get them off by using her wings. They hardly had to dodge, wings maybe just barely grazing them. All in all, this battle was going a lot better than they had originally thought it might. The dragon was much bigger, but she was young, and likely didn't have much experience.

They thought about what to do next. There wasn't really much they could do without actually hurting her. Darn this simple competition! These plates on her back weren't much help either. The only thing they could really get at were the wings. So, making sure their claws their claws were retracted so they wouldn't hurt her, they aimed for their wings.

Asimona vaguely felt the cat batting at her wings and she frowned with anger. How else was she going to get this cat off of her? If she couldn't reach with her wings and she couldn't use the same way she had before, what to do? She wanted very much to roll onto her back and crush them but this was a competition, not a real fight. She couldn't hurt them like that.

But what about spinning in the air? She had hard plates on her back - they would not be able to dig their claws in to hang on. It was worth a shot. She opened her wings and shot forward, flapping hard and fast to get some altitude and speed before she pulled them in and rolled in the air, flaring them out just as she came out and landing down stumbling a bit as she hit the ground. She hoped that it had worked and turned to see if they were injured.

Imperia soon stopped batting at the dragon's shoulders. Really, it was useless. They were just waiting for this battle to be over. Besides, it made them think of Aaliyah. Batting at the dragon's wings was something she would do. The thought of her made them frown, and they loosened their grip slightly.

Which was clearly a mistake.

Next thing they knew, the dragon had shot forward, and they tried digging their claws in but the plates on her back made it impossible. They were vaguely aware of her rolling in the air, and attempted to land safely. They tried to jump off at a right moment, but the movements from the dragon made them stumble, and they near flopped over, landing on the ground in a very ungraceful manner. Their side hurt slightly from landing, and they winced a little as they got up, but it wasn't anything too bad. They hoped.

Yuma The arena was quiet for far too long with cat and dragon staring each other down. The battle was supposed to be over by now, that's what the judges had been for! The crowd, however, had thinned and many of the judges had left in an apparent misunderstanding of how the bracket system was supposed to go. Indeed the only judge visible at the moment seemed to be barely be paying attention now, his eyes half closed as the trill of combat had lost its charm as it wore on. Was there anything that could perk his interest again? "Just... stop." the small aye-aye finally spoke up. "You may have been able to beat a baby bear but like I told the glow-dog, that cat actually knows how to fight. I'd wager he's actually the best fighter in the cave." The little creature sighed and shifted positions. How much longer did he have to deal with this charge?
