Ok, that was slightly impressive, slightly! Kaida grumbled under her breath as Envy absorbed the fried banana, should she have tried to swallow it? No, no, it felt wrong the moment the scent hit her nose. There was no way that eating this thing was what she was supposed to do. But she was getting hungry, and the hungrier she got, the grumpier she was getting.

"I...need...meat! Now! Please!" She practically shrieked, fangs flashing, "Any isss fine, I hunt myssself, I just...just need to find it!" The gnawing was getting worse, she didn't have time to worry about Envy, she just wanted to eat, not have an argument!...Afterwards she could fight.

Envy paused, their spines trembling for a moment, letting out a softly rattling hiss as the snake demanded meat once again. They weren't sure... after all, they'd never really honed their hunting skills. But, if they wanted Kaida to not try to eat them... and by extension maybe follow them rather than killing herself on their spines... maybe it was best to try. Besides, she said that she'd do the hunting part... something that made the choice a lot simpler. With a small grunt, they raised their spines upright and sniffed at the air, holding perfectly still in a vigilant poise.

They couldn't smell much... but they wondered if they'd perhaps be able to sense them instead. They focused in on their gem, thinking about what they knew already, and what they perhaps could do. The magic was there, alright, and surprisingly, seemed all too eager to be found. They let out the magic, and felt, somewhere, the pattering of paws on stone- felt the thrum of a heartbeat not quite as quick as theirs.

They felt that whatever was on the other end of their magic was small... a cave mouse, perhaps- but it would do as a first meal.

Laying their spines flat, Envy grinned and bounded off in the direction of the sound. "This way!" they bounded off, strides long and movements surprisingly fast. Occasionally they'd stop to wait for Kaida- and finally they came to a halt, crouching behind a rock- beyond which, a small shape could be seen, scrabbling in the dirt.

Kaida almost didn't have the patience to wait for Envy to finish finding something before they suddenly succeeded. Now, by this point, Kaida wasn't sure whether she was dealing with an incompetent, but there was one problem. She didn't know how to find food either. Not that she'd ever say she was an incompetent.

Regardless, this kind had finally done something kingly in her mind, found food! Her body ached slightly from having to practically dash to keep up with Envy, but adrenaline chased the feeling away as she spotted the shape beyond the rock.

She didn't think, didn't consider trying to sneak up on it. She launched forward, mouth yawning open as she tried to hunt in a manner completely unlike a snake. And failed, absolutely. The shape saw her coming a mile away, and she cried out as it vanished into a crack. Her food!

@Envy

Envy watched, and couldn't help but snort softly as she tried- and quickly failed- at catching the mouse. "Nice one." They held back a laugh as she let out her little anguished cry, but in the manner of a true king- raised their head and listened again, sending out their magic and focusing all of their senses.

But against all odds, there was no feedback. No matter how hard Envy listened, they couldn't pick out any small creatures in the nearby vicinity. With a huff, the weasel sat back into a coiled position and showed a fang in an annoyed snarl, spines softly quivering with a rattling hiss. "Sorry, kid. Looks like that was the last of it."

It looked like Kaida was gonna have to learn to like bananas after all.
