The fox felt happiness swell in his chest as Max set the colorful bug down at Humphreys feet. He quickly crouched down and crunched up half of the sizable bug and looked back up at Max. Sharing is caring and bugs are the best!

"Here!" He used his pink nose to push the other half of the beetle to his friend. "You caught it! You can have some too!" Only a short time out of the chrysalis and this life was already so good! Hopefully all gembounds are like Max! Running and playing is so fun! Even getting stuck in the bush was fun! But also... tiring.

"Are you tired?" The kit yawned, "I'm a little tired!" Perhaps a nap was in order.

Max wagged his tail violently as the little fox gulped down half of the colorful thing he had caught, bouncing from paw to paw. He was so glad that Humphrey liked his gift! Oh, he liked giving gifts, he did!

"Thank you thank you thank you!" he woofed, gulping down the half of the beetle without even chewing. "Oh I love bugs they taste so good we should eat some more some time!" he nodded emphatically.

However, the fox yawned, and it seemed contagious. He yawned, tongue unrolling from his mouth, and nodded, toppling over onto his side, before rolling onto his back with another yawn. "Tired," he agreed.

Humphrey watched as the pup rolled on to his side. The kit smiled sleepy then followed suit, flopping down next to Max. The little foxes head tilted back to rest on Max's belly. He gave another yawn before speaking once more.

"I think a good nap is in order." His voice sounded sleepier and sleepier with each word as his narrowed eye slowly began to close. It was his first day in this new world and it had already proved itself to be a fun place. So fun that he couldn't wait to see what else it held as his eyes closed and he fell asleep.

The dog gave a goofy grin when Humphrey joined him, using his belly as a pillow. He twisted so he could press his nose into the kit's soft fur, soothed by his scent and knowing that he would be woken when the kit woke as well.

He yawned widely, lolling out his tongue, and mumbled a soft "Night," before falling dead asleep.
