Charki nodded at everything the wolf said. That was really all she could do. Her voice was too quiet to jump in, which was probably a good thing, it kept her from interrupting and being rude. But as Kin-Kin went on, the young kitten got lost in the thought of all the elements. There were so many! She imagined the abilities of each one. Though, she couldn't quite imagine what the fungi element did. Was it used to grow huge mushrooms? No one knew. Well, Charki didn't at least.

She was excited at the fact that Kin-Kin said she could do cool stuff. If the wolf thought it was cool then it must've been awesome! She was also intrigued by the idea of it being powerful. How powerful? Too powerful for Charki to master it? Only time would tell, even if Charki was impatient.

She looked back up at Kin-Kin with happy eyes. "What's first?" She asked with excitement. Her energy was so high that she could be bouncing off the walls, but she made herself sit still. Or, she tried to sit still. In reality, she was wiggling like there was no tomorrow. Charki was very eager to get started.

Kin-Kin was surprised by Charki's lack of questions- the only one presented was straight to the point, but not an easy answer. Kin-Kin took a moment to respond, flicking her tail and laying her ears back in a moment of consideration. "I'd say to practice with what you already know. Try growing more little plants, so you can get better at it. Then try other things- you know- branch out... Heh." She grinned lopsidedly, hoping that the kitten caught the intent of her joke.

Kin-Kin shook her head after a moment. "As a Master of Light, the first thing I ever learned was how to glow. Doesn't seem so impressive compared to all the other things I can do, but everyone has to start somewhere. Now, I glow without even realizing it. Cool, right? One day, you might be able to turn those tiny plants into massive trees. Wanna give it another go?"

Kin-Kin bent her muzzle to examine the little shoot at Charki's paws.

Charki nodded at Kin-Kin's answer. She understood it would take time, even if she wanted to be a master immediately. Everything requires practice, Charki would give it her all. "That is cool!" She shouted when the wolf told her how she would glow. Charki was determined to know everything there was to learn about magic, so she follows Kin-Kin's orders. The kitten crouched down and stared at the ground. She focused all her energy into making another little sprout. Her eyes and ears never wavered from where she intended it to grow.

To the young cat's surprise, nothing happened. There wasn't even a shake in the ground or a speck of a stem. Charki looked down in disappointment. "How can I ever be a master at magic if I can't even grow a tiny plant" She really meant for this to stay in her head, but she ended up saying it aloud. Her bright green eyes turned back to Kin-Kin for reassurance. Maybe not all hope was lost.

Kin-Kin grinned at the young one's overenthusiastic response. It amused her that something so simple could elicit such a response, especially when she could do so much more. Kin-Kin thought back to the cycles ago when glow was all she had, when she'd had to work for the small amount of light that shone from her fur. She remembered gazing into the surface of puddles and crystals in wonder. She couldn't help but grin at the little kitten.

When she looked down, the young one appeared to be trying her hardest to focus on her magic, and Kin-Kin waited with bated breath to see if she found success. But no little shoot pushed itself up from the earth. Kin-Kin wasn't surprised, but the young one's disappointment was tangible. "Hey, kid... Don't worry. Magic is a finnicky thing. The trick is not to let it get to you- just remember that it can happen to anyone, even a master of magic. There could be a thousand reasons for it. Maybe there are no plant seeds, there? C'mon." Kin-Kin stood and took a few steps away from the newborn before pawing at the ground beneath her. "Try again here. And if you fail again, well... it happens to all of us. Even me."

Charki felt better when Kin-Kin spoke. Maybe she was right. Charki excitedly followed Kin-Kin a few feet away. Her walk was more of an excited bounce. She nodded at Kin-Kin's words and then tried again. This time, she let herself relax a little bit. She didn't tense her body so much. But she still focused on what she wanted to happen. Hopefully this time it would work, Charki really wanted to be a master now...

After a few seconds, a little sprout popped up. It wasn't as big as the other one, but it was still something. Charki looked back at Kin-Kin, waiting for her next orders. At this rate, she'll be learning a new spell in no time! Right?

Kin-Kin settled back and waited patiently as the young one once again began to concentrate, attempting to tap pinto the same magic as before. She flicked her tail, adjusting her cape, and ears twitched to the sounds of the world around as the quiet drew on. She wondered for an instant what lurked out there; and if the stag she was looking for was close, or even watching at that very moment. The fur along her spine prickled for a moment, safely hidden beneath her cloak.

With the silence droning on, it took a while for her to look back down at Charki. But when she did, her muzzle split into a broad grin. "Hey! Good job, kid! You're a natural at this," she praised. It seemed as though the young one was getting to grips with magic already. "You're already makin' some good progress. But for now... just keep practicin' with that! Might take a while to get to the big spells but we all gotta start somewhere. And if ya get bored, sometimes it's good to just go explorin'. When it comes to magic, you might find what you need as soon as you stop lookin'."
