Grim tilted his head at the question, then shook it, flapping his wings and landing next to the dragon, like a blur of feathers and two glowing dots for eyes. he sat, facing towards the entrance of the den, shaking the dust out of his feathers and tucking himself up to watch the entrance. It would seem that he's already doing his job of guarding the hoard.

The dragon pushed up, apparently giving up all idea of rest, and quite abruptly, too. This was probably for the best, as him being asleep would not be of particular interest for the falcon--unless, of course, it was a thief. But Dread was too oblivious to consider the fact that it might be lying. He'd had an idea, and these were rare enough for the dragon that he was excited to follow up on it.

He shoved up, and wing-walked swiftly to the edge of the ledge, glancing to the falcon.

"Come with me!" he demanded, and then took two swift steps forward, dropping off the ledge and out of sight. There was a loud rustle as his batlike wings caught air, and the bass thump of his wingbeats as he lifted himself up, craning his neck back to be sure that Grim would follow.

Grim jumped a bit, quite startled by the dragon's booming voice, watching him leave with wide eyes, before streaking over to the edge. "Well what could this be about?" he thought, flapping up level with the dragon, meeting his eyes and throwing his head to the side, motioning for him to lead the way.

"Thought is all I have so here's what it looks like"

Satisfied, the dragon turned. He banked smoothly on the warm updrafts of Monoceros' winds, and shot out over the caves from his den high above.

Wings billowed, flapping once, twice, then simply gliding as he soared forward and rapidly downward. He was angling toward where he knew Glory to make his home--at least vaguely. He didn't know if the eagle generally lived in the cliffs, or the gorge or somewhere in between, but he knew that the eagle was normally a bit closer to the tunnel entrance than his own den.

For a few minutes he flew, content in the warmth of the strong winds. He widely skirted the twister, and he didn't think to check behind him, either, to ensure that the falcon was following. Its nod had been enough.

He glided in for a landing, tail balancing him as he thumped down. Body again rocked forward, wings taking his weight; he looked around, but there was no conveniently-placed eagle that happened to be waiting, out in the open here.

"GLORY," he roared, his voice booming. Behind him, catlike, his tail twitched once as he waited for any answer.

Glory was deep in his work when Dread called. He was in the midst of creating the armguards that had been commissioned of him some time ago. It was probably time to deliver and, thankfully, he was almost done. The claws were forged, the necklace was cast, and the bone was currently cooling, the gold poured into its designs still too hot to touch. He had a pile of leather next to him and stitched together a crude base to use for the actual gloves when the roaring voice of his dragon friend reached his ears. He paused, for a moment considering ignoring the call and continuing his work, but he knew that would be rude. Dread probably needed him for something.

He carefully set down his work and stripped off the gloves and apron he used when he was working and hopped out of his cave. Immediately the winds of Monoceros blew into his fur and he shivered, forgetting exactly how incredibly hot his cave was. He glanced around for the dragon, seeing him on a ledge quite a ways away. Glory didn't blame him for not remembering the exact ledge he lived on, there were a lot of place here.

He spread his wings and jumped into the gale, easily traversing the roaring winds towards were Dread was waiting for him. He perced himself on an open spot just above Dread's head and puffed out his feathers, happy to see his friend. "Hello, Dread! Did you need me for something?

Dread hadn't bothered to explain Glory to Grim--such social niceties as "basic interaction" still evaded him. When the eagle flew out, he was satisfied; he dipped his head in vague greeting and turned to look for the comparatively-tiny falcon."I have found a bird!" he declared, as if he alone had discovered Grim alive in this world. "It understands, but it does not speak. But it is a bird."

The dragon then looked expectantly at Glory, as if prepared for all sorts of joyous praise. Clearly, a bird would be very happy--even ecstatic!--to encounter another bird, just as meeting another dragon would stir him. Anyway, Glory could probably handle Grim better than he. They were similar. They had to be. They looked similar, anyway. Right, Glory was bigger, and browner, and fiery-... er. But they both head feathers and talons, and they were closer in size to each other than to him!

Kind of.

Some part of him hoped that the eagle could help the falcon, but it was a small part and barely logical, let alone emotional. What it wound up translating to was "bird go to bird." And so that's what he had done.

"You can do bird things," he finished, at length.

Grim used the wind of the cavern to pull himself up, lighting at the edge of a ledge closer to the dragon, his wide eyes fixed on the larger bird, intimidated by his massive size in comparison to the little falcon. "He could rip my throat out without a second thought..." He thought, keeping his distance with caution, his coat blending in well with the wall of the cave but not well enough for his own comfort, he fluffed out his feathers in an attempt to look bigger.

"Thought is all I have so here's what it looks like"

Glory shifted his gaze from the massive dragon to the falcon hiding against the wall. He looked quite terrified but that actually wasn't what hit Glory's brain first. Actually, he looked a lot like someone he knew!

He hopped down a few rocks to get closer and clacked his beak with joy. "Oh, hey! You look like my apprentice! It's good to meet you! I'm Glory, the blacksmith!" His chest feathers were puffed with pride at being able to say those words. He had worked hard to perfect his art of blacksmithing so he had every right to be proud of it!

But he wasn't really sure what he was doing here. It didn't look like the bird wanted any smithing work done and all Dread had really said was...you'rd both birds. Yes, they were, but Glory saw birds every day. So he turned to his dragon friend and tilted his head. "So, uh, what did you need me for?"

The dragon looked at Glory. He looked back at Grim; he looked again to Glory, and blinked.

"It does not speak!" he repeated. Then he craned his head over toward the blacksmithing area, curious. What sort of shinies might be over there..? He'd seen where Glory had come from--they were quite some distance off--but now, he wondered.

"What were you doing?" he asked. He knew the bird made... things, but had never really grasped why, or precisely what it was that Glory created. And the dragon seemed unaware that he'd interrupted anything; instead he seemed easygoing, unconcerned about overstaying his welcome, or intruding.

If he'd had some sort of plan, with Grim, he showed no sign.

Grim was still suspicious of this larger bird, though they did seem friendly enough. He shrugged with his wings when he asked what the dragon wanted. He drew a claw across his throat and tried to speak, a scratchy gurgle coming from deep in his throat, showing that the dragon was correct. He flitted over to the other avian's workspace, tilting his head as he looked over the tools, unsure what they were for.

"Thought is all I have so here's what it looks like"
