Pride offered a nod, and then waited politely.

Felina moved a bit away, and stood silent, but nothing seemed to happen, and Pride tipped his head to one side a little quizzically. When the bobcat did not speak, he hummed softly and offered up a few words, himself. "Is it invisible? Or did it fail? -That happens often to me," he added, a bit of reassurance in his tone.

And even as he tried to cast out his own, to sense if Felina were actually casting, nothing happened for him, either. "Magicka is so fickle, is it not? If it failed, did you wish to try again? Or simply--explain what it was, perhaps?" he offered.

"I'm afraid my spell failed. It was 'Shard Storm'. It summons bits of rock that turn into a storm. I think the affected area is limited, though. Maybe only a few feet in a direction I choose."

Felina shrugged...as best as a feline *can* shrug, that is. "Meh. I could always try it again some other time. Maybe your group can train me in improving my spells? A few training sessions might help in using my Majicka better?"

Pride listened, curious, and then tilted his head. He hadn't met many Gembound who had come up with names for their magic--he liked the idea of it, though. "'Shard Storm,' hm? Is it something like this?" he asked, stepping back and turning to one side.

Once safely away from Felina, he coalesced the magicka. Sand rose and combined, soil and rock particles forming sharp shards of glass, spinning around him in a whirling vortex. He then let them all fall away, clattering quietly to the ground.

...Hmm, that'd be hard to clean up...

"As for training with the rest of us, certainly. I can introduce you to them, the next time I see them. Meanwhile; what is it you'd like to learn? We have members who use various magics, so if there's something specific you'd like to specialize in, perhaps I can offer a specific tutor-?" he suggested, tone polite.

Felina watched in awe as the very spell she'd just attempted...and failed...was cast so effortlessly by Pride. She wasn't upset in any way, shape or form. Her spells often didn't come out quite as she wished them to. "And yes...that was definitely 'Shard Storm'."

"A tutor would be *wonderful*! I'd like to learn more of your group's spells...if there are others besides the barrier spell you showed me before. I feel that the more of those I learn, the more I can help the group.

Let me try to cast that barrier. I'm curious about whether I got it right or not. Here goes..."

Felina tries to cast "Shield of the Seven". She was unsure of the outcome, of course. It was worth at least a *try*, though...

Pride watched, tilting his head again to indicate attentiveness perhaps. But again nothing happened. He knew the feeling, of course; his own magic--particularly, it seemed, that of illusions--was painfully erratic.

"Hmm. As a group, we have only that; if I had to name it--I suppose a shield, or barrier. And I suppose 'shield of the seven' has a better ring than 'barrier of the seven.' Try focusing on the idea of a null space--somewhere magicka cannot hit, and attacks cannot penetrate. Move your magic to create that space. It isn't a... a thing, so much as a lack of thing, a spot that cancels any attempt to enter it--at least, that's how I see it. In a sense," he explained. "But is there any other particular type of magic you'd like to learn? For example--hm, fire, or air; electricity? Stone, you said you have stone, yes? Did you seek to learn more of that, or anything related--plants, perhaps?" He was mulling over potential teachers, in his mind.

Did we have any stone-users? he wondered, racking his brain for memories.

Felina considered the choices offered. One was particularly interesting. That one was air.

"I think air spells would be my choice. And stone, of course. Is it possible to learn both? Are there any Gembounds you know that can use Majicka for more than one kind? If yes, then it's especially exciting to learn such a large range of spells!"

"Hm? -Oh yes, of course; the shield you saw me use was not stone magic. I do not see them as neatly split into categories, bar in our minds, really; it is just matter of how you shape them. But... I am trying to think of any air-magic users. I know that the dragon Dread is able to create small storms... And powerfully manipulate stone, as well, but I do not think he would be a particularly good teacher. He is... brutish, simple-minded, in a sense. Ah! I know--I might ask the Bonebound, if you are agreeable?"

Pride peered down to Felina, thinking. "They have a number of members, and are allies of ours. I think they had one or two that used air magic, and I can teach you what I know of stone, myself, if you wish?"

"Yes! Please! Learning more stone spells would be great!

As for the Bonebound...I have no problem with learning air spells from their members who can teach them to me. I'm always happy to learn about...anything, really. Knowledge is very healthy for one's brain, I always say. Just my own humble opinion, of course..."

Felina was beyond excited at the opportunity to learn air *and* more stone spells. If she has a regular cat's tail---the kind longer than her "bobbed" one---it would be flicking with pure excitement! Instead, she let her voice reveal her feelings.

"When can we visit the Bonebound, Pride? When can you teach me more stone spells? I think it'll be so interesting!" Her voice was full of both excitement and anticipation.

Her enthusiasm was infectious, and he gave a warm dip of his head.

"Well, how about you decide?" he offered. "I can try to teach you what I know, now, of stone-magic; or we can go to Canis, and look for the Bonebound, if you wish?"

He seemed amiable enough either way, easygoing and in a good mood; it seemed that either path was fine with him.

"I'd *love* to learn more stone-magic! I'm ready to learn any---or even *all*---of the spells you can teach me! It'll be so wonderful to have more knowledge of stone-magic!"

Felina sat down in front of Pride. Her ears were pricked up. She was ready to listen to Pride's lesson(s).
