James giggled as Comet slowed, running out of energy quickly. He himself was doing alright, panting a bit but not heaving. He stopped and allowed her to catch up, offering her a nuzzle as she passed. He approached her as she drank, dipping his head down to catch a few gulps before lifting his head again and yawning widely.

"Are you tired yet?", he asked in amusement, "We ought to find somewhere to rest if we can. Perhaps back in the meadow under some trees?"

He peered over at the rock wall, ears perking up, "Or we could nap in the light. I'll bet that wall is warm from being heated all day."

He trotted over and went to lean against it, wanting to slide down and lie on the grass beneath it.

James leaned--and fell. Hopefully his horse legs were a little stronger than they once were, because he would most likely topple right over.

Beyond lay another plain: a meadow, an oasis. The sound of birds and the sweet floral scent of blooms were both strong in the air, a pleasantly cool breeze sweeping through, ruffling the soft grass. The gentle ripple of water could be heard from the large pond at its center.

What a strange place...

Who had hidden this sanctuary, and why?

"Yes, that wall looks comfortable." Comet followed the horse over to where the wall, which looked warm and comfortable. She was about to slide down against it too, when, all of a sudden, James disappeared. "Renny! Renny where are you?" She paced around the wall, how was it possible for someone to just disappear like that? He was leaning against the wall one moment, and-- wait. The wall?

She inspected the wall closely, but nothing seemed off about it. It looked like a regular wall. Perhaps she would have to put herself in his position. Comet walked into the same spot that he was before, and leaned against the wall-- and fell right through. "Ahhh!"

James had pressed up against it, legs kicking as he squealed and fell. He quickly stood up and shook himself off, spooking away as Comet fell through, before turning and looking at her, blinking.

"Well," he said, "That was... interesting."

He looked up and gasped, the paradise stretching before them. He stepped forward, in front of Comet, still a bit wary with what happened with the Golem. His overprotective habits would fade, but for now he'd much prefer Comet behind him in case something happened.

"Hello?", he asked, calling out, "Wow... this is beautiful."

He looked around and felt... safe. He turned back to the wall, eyebrows up. This place was perfectly hidden... it was amazing! How did that even work? What magic was sustaining it? Could he do that?

The birds sang, and the grass rustled; nothing reacted to the sudden appearance of the two. It was not an enormous meadow, but a pleasant one, and with the pool at its center, perhaps a good place to spend some time.

Comet tumbled out onto... grass? James was here! But where was 'here'? The rock wall that she had fallen through was still there, but now the meadow they were in was different. It was smaller, and there was a pool at the center. Her view was blocked when the horse stepped in front of her, offering protection.

But no dangers came, and the space was as relaxed as ever. "This place is so nice. I wonder why it's hidden?" She stepped out and walked over to the pool, and noticed the white flower floating in the middle. That was strange, there was something drawing her to go over to it, and investigate.

Her paws carried her into the pool, and she waded over to the large flower in the middle to see what that was all about.

James waded in to only about his ankles, following Comet but a bit more wary about disturbing the paradise. He sniffed at the pool and looked over at Comet and the flower.

"Hey-", he said nervously, "Don't harm that flower, okay? Let's try to leave everything here alone until we know why it's here. If it's protected, it has to be very important to someone."

He couldn't help but feel protected. They were the first ones in Pegasus and if whoever made this was gone, then they were the only ones who knew about this. They were safe. And they had to keep this place safe, too. It deserved it.

Comet's paws tread in soft dirt until they didn't. The sub-surface of the water now became unyielding--not rock, but almost like stepping atop a large, stiff balloon. The flower took up much of the pond, making it hard to see what was beneath its fan of long-white petals; the edges reached almost to the shore.

"It's okay renny, I just want to sniff it." Comet noticed that the water wasn't quite a liquid. I was more... solid? But not really. It was like standing on something that could support you, but also give away any second. It was a weird feeling.

The flower was quite large now that she saw it. What was in the middle of the petals? But, not wanting to damage the petals by stepping on them to see what was in the middle, Comet decided to try and jump to the center of the petals.

James just sighed. Yes, jumping on the flower was a good idea. That certainly wouldn't harm it, no.

He took flight and hovered above Comet, feeling the exhaustion that came with parenting the wolf, "Comet- this is the opposite of what I said."

The pegasus very gently landed, still flapping in case he accidentally disturbed the petal, before just taking flight again, too nervous to try a second time. He was much heavier than a wolf pup, definitely.
