Kimera sat on her haunches and rummaged through the bag, inspecting the drawings with her ears perked up. She cooed at the one about sugar, but picked up a different one, turning it sideways, upside-down, but with no understanding.
"What's this?", she asked, holding up the drawing, "ANd the other ones? They're so cool!"
She wanted to draw like that!! She wanted paper and whatever was used on the sheets!

Aran couldn't exactly see which scroll Kimera was holding up to answer the question. He knew what each of the scrolls had on them, from spending a long time inspecting each of them when he was able to obtain that information. He still would not be giving up any of the scrolls.
"I found them. I suppose they show off how to make things." He replied.
The edenfolk was a group that made things right? Well... Maybe the group would like to know these things.
"Tell me, what is on the scroll you are interested in?"

Kimera turned one around and peered at it, "Um... looks like... a pile of powder?"
Sugar and how to make it from fruits.
"What even is it?", she asked, "Is that a fruit? Fruits?"
This was confusing...

Ah! It was the one with the fruit on it - how to make something out of the fruit. It tasted sweet, the stuff that was made from it, based on the cup of it he already had in his plant-made bag. Maybe Kimera wanted to try some of it. Or try to make it on her own - Aran hadn't tried it yet. Maybe Sheng or one of the other gembound would have some fun with it, too.
"It's making that out of fruit - tastes kind of sweet." he replied to the question. "There's a bit of it in the bag the scrolls where in, if you wanted to try it." He added.

Kimera perked up and set the scroll down gently, almost lovingly as she sprung over, sitting down in front of Aran with her long ears perked up, "I'd love to. Is it like fruit?"
She adored fruit, even more than she did meat or anything else. It was her favorite thing ever, for sure. Apples, peaches, mangos, melons, anything sweet and she'd eat enough to make herself sick.
"What is it called?", she asked, sitting on her haunches to try and see.

Was it like fruit? Aran did wonder at what point the comparison ended. He supposed fruit was sweet - Aran himself liked fruit. Though this was a different kind of sweet. It was hard for him to explain, he'd only tried the sugar once himself. It was sweet, but tasted far different from the fruit sweetness to really compare it to that. At least, with the fruit he had tried.
"Almost - it's different too. Just try it." He replied.
The deer wouldn't have pushed it if it wasn't safe. He'd been perfectly fine when he tried it, so it would be fine with the kid as long as she somehow didn't have some adverse reaction to the texture or something. It really was just made from fruit for the most part.
"Sugar.... I think."

Kimera nodded and dipped a finger in, putting it in her mouth and sitting back, almost wincing at the sweetness on her tongue, almost overwhelming in its intensity.
"It's... incredibly sweet," she said, "But what use does it have? Can you attract prey with it? Make things with it?"
If she knew what 'cookies' were, she'd probably freak out and demand they try to bake some right that instant. But she didn't, so she was unfortunately ignorant of the vast amount of sweet treats that existed in the world.
"It's good," she said, dipping her hand in to lick more off, already addicted to the stuff.

Aran didn't do much experimenting with the stuff, really. So he didn't know what it could be used for. Since it tasted like fruit, though, he imagined that the stuff could be used for food somehow. Whether or not Kimera actually figured that out would be her choice. He was just there to supply the information he did have - even if Kimera was still a child. Aran found children were more fond of exploring and finding out new things than adults, though the hybrid in front of him didn't seem too fond of the exploring part.
"Why don't you take it and find out yourself?" He questioned. It wasn't like he was giving up the scroll, just the sugar. And carrying around sugar for cycles and doing nothing with it would be boring.
"The sugar, not the scroll." He added.

Kimera cooed and lifted the pouch that the sugar was in, her tail wagging excitedly, "Oh my gosh- thank you!!"
She hopped up on her hind legs to press a sweet kiss to Aran's cheek, giggling, "I'm gonna see what I can do with this!!"
She grinned and put the pouch in her teeth, "Wa'a hel'?"
She probably should have thought through putting it in her mouth and speaking, but whatever.

Aran didn't have any particular interest in figuring out those things on his own, at least not yet anyway. The deer had other things to worry about - mostly his sight. He had to get everything ready to see again. At least, in hopes he would see again. The collector told him to bring a lesser that was still living, for the eyes were needed. He had to figure out how to do that, too. Maybe asking for help from someone would be a good idea.
"Of course." He replied to the thanks, feeling the vaguest pressure on the side of his face before hearing the kid pick up the bag of sugar. It wouldn't last too long if she used too much of it, but they could always figure out how to make more of it using the scroll.
"I don't quite understand what you're telling me." The barasingha replied, half expecting Kimera to wander off before saying what she meant again.
Aran collected each of the scrolls back up carefully, placing all three where they belonged.
"Make sure to tell me what you figured out - maybe we can try to make more next."
