She'd followed her dad, after briefly meeting her sister--and she'd been warm, brightly open, at the introduction. A sister-! Well. ANOTHER sister! She was excited, and she hadn't hidden it. James she'd greeted cheerfully enough, though he wasn't really family; and then as a troupe they'd wandered around, and Thalia, with them, had viewed everything with happy abandon.

She was the equivalent, perhaps, of a teenager: still too-thin and gangly, but nearing her adult height, her furred legs' hooves clicking on the rock as they walked. And all of this caught her attention: the bright lights, the smells, the happy voices calling out.

The fortune booth caught her eye as it had done Jampa's, and she stepped closer, firing her father a hopeful look: she didn't have anything really worth trading, but he was pretty good with just... making stuff outta thin air.

"Oooh, me too, please. I hope yours is something good," she added cheerfully to Jampa.

The creature touched her, and her skin twitched a moment as she wasn't used to such contact from strangers; but then the creature wove a tale for her that sounded interesting - a bit foreboding, and then quickly altered at the end to be a smidge more up-lifting. Jampa was pleased. It was a curious ability to read one's fortune and she wasn't sure if it could be wholly trusted as truth, but the girl was young, her naivety won out. She would recite the fortune to herself as she withdrew - passing a hasty, "Thank you." to the purveyor of fortunes.

Kitty eyed the white stag, who reminded her a bit of Madhukar's sharp friend. Lots of awkward angles on that one, though Pride was a bit taller and a bit broader. She grinned and drew the diamond closer -- it was fine. Exquisite, even. She tucked it close to her with the rest of her treasures. "It's enough, yes. Thank you, thank you! Let's see, let me try yours -- just a moment, I'll prefer to touch you, if you don't mind." She reached forward and gently touched her paw to whatever part of Pride he offered up, and closed her eyes to focus on the magic rushing through Polaris and how time rushed through him.

A white hare and a white stag, standing over a pink-carved chrysalis. A long, green mustelid stretching out of it, and a stag's shocked greeting. "You're awake," he said, the scenery of a destroyed Orion behind him. "Are you alright?" he asked, nosing gently at the creature with kindness and caution in his tone.

She opened her eyes and retreated, settling back and considering. "You are light," she said finally, thinking to how he had looked like a beacon in the ruins and thinking back to the reading she'd just given to his daughter. "Your intuition and instinct will grow," she said, considering the slight caution in his posture in her vision, "and so will your wisdom." She looked for a beat at the daughters he had with him. "You're becoming more attuned with your compassion and empathy; that's a good thing. It'll help you keep your loved ones safe from those who might seek to deceive you."

Then it was Thalia's turn, the pretty faun with pretty hair. "I like your fur," she said, gesturing to the long hair draped over Thalia's shoulders. It reminded her of long grass. Kitty gave a smile, and then reached out for her -- "You next, okay? Anything you're willing to give me," and touched her, eyes falling closed with the expectation of receiving a vision.

A growing girl with long hair leaned against a tree as several figures crowded around her -- Tema, Comet, a three-headed reptilian Kitty didn't recognize. They all seemed happy and excited as Thalia offered suggestions in the dragon's direction -- "Maybe something like Pearl-scale or Nightwing or something? -Your colors are quite nice." She looked in the direction of Tema, still smiling, and introduced herself -- "I'm Thalia; good to meet you both too," and she nodded.

Kitty opened her eyes and fell back, considering for a moment what she'd seen. Comet and Tema were good company, though she had no clue about the reptile. Still, they sort of reminded her of Carja, except with more heads and a warmer color scheme. She curled her tail around her paws. "You're good at taking care of others," she began, considering the offering up of the name. "You're friendly and fun -- people like you!" She had to be if Comet and Tema were at her side. "But you might be giving away too much of yourself, and that's not so good. Connect with your feelings, and try not to let those of others rule you." She wasn't sure where that one had come from, but she hoped it rang true. It seemed like all her other readings had today.

Pride waited patiently. He saw nothing wrong with being touched, though he wasn't very much a fan of contact--he himself could look into the past, and perhaps this one's magic could see into the future through touch, as well.

The reading she offered him, her interpretation, was also surprisingly poignant. Kitty's mention of compassion and empathy struck him--struck a deep chord, one he hadn't expected to have strummed today. It was a fear of his, really; the knowledge that when he saw injustice, his rage was incandescent. And he almost didn't regret it: the desire to kill those who killed others was strong and merciless in him. He'd been warned against it. He'd even tried to see it another way, but... struggled with the morality of it all.

The creature's assurance that perhaps he'd overcome, one way or another, was... welcome; and as with many who have been told what they want to hear, he accepted the reading at face value and gladly.

"Thank you," he told her, a bow of his head offering sweeping antlers. He left the large and perfect gemstone there, and stepped back for Thalia's turn.

He listened, but was half mulling over his reading, and Jampa's--he was careful to teach her caution, but had it yet been enough-?

As Thalia's was given, he focused on creating a second gem--and as it was finished, he pushed it forward with his nose. A topaz, this one, bright and large and yellow-orange, glinting in the light. "I hope this will do--and thank you again," he told Kitty, and stepped back, ready to move on to the next booth with his family.

'I like your fur.' Well, it was hair but Thalia wasn't here to split-... hairs...

"Thanks!" she answered brightly, a smile on her freckled face. She offered out an arm for touch, eager to hear the reading, only half-noticing Pride stepping back to form a stone.

This reading wasn't quite so accurate as her father's; Thalia listened with an increasingly scrunched-up nose. She was pretty sure she was fun, and happy, but she hadn't ever really given any of herself away. She certainly hadn't known anyone in dire enough need that prioritizing them over herself had been an issue, but--maybe it would be, in the future?

Confusion flickered in her features. "I don't-..." she started, but that seemed impolite. -Ah, fuck it; Thalia wasn't a delicate flower, anyway. "I don't think I give myself to others a lot? And me and my feelings are connected. I think?" There was a too-long pause as Thalia tried to figure this out, failed, and shrugged.

Her blatant rejection, as friendly as it was, was perhaps clear enough indication that she didn't give more of herself--didn't keep her mouth shut, even--than needed.

She was distracted before she could speak further by her father, as he pushed payment toward Kitty; and Thalia smiled brightly. "I'll keep it in mind, though! This is all fun, huh?" and the smile turned to a happy grin. She turned to trot after Pride, hooves clicking, offering Kitty a wave in her departure.

Kitty looked around as the crowds began to disperse, little by little. After about a half hour of having no customers, she stretched out and looked around her booth, slowly starting to dismantle it. This had been fun! Now, though, it was pretty well time to go -- no use in sticking around for hours if everyone was leaving, now was there?
