It struggled to catch it's breath, tongue lolling out of one set of jaws. Eyes were cast upward, watching the fading silhouette of the bird in the distance. Faint surprise mixed in with everything else- a soupy mess of adrenaline and emotions. It was not used to going that fast- it hadn't even known it could go that fast. Why had it even gone that fast? Would it really have... that bird...?

It's sibling was talking.

It should respond.

"Thanks.." It's voice sounded.. somewhat dull. Just tired from the chase- right? Yes. Just tired. Still catching it's breath. "I tried.. hard... Had it, though. Should it have, though? Did it want to...? Should it have....?

Nevermind all that. The bird was gone, so it didn't matter anymore.

It return Terror's nuzzle with one of it's own, always one for affection of any kind. A quiet rumble drew itself from it's throat, fading nearly a quick as it started. With a nod, it'd reply "Yes. I will try again." Would it...? Should it....? Did it want to....?

Of course it would. It wanted to make it's sibling happy.

"Play. Yes. Play!" Enthusiasm tried to make it's return. Why shouldn't it be excited. Creosote liked to play games. It liked to spend time with it's siblings. Terror liked to... do other things. Really, they should be having fun, right? They were doing all the things they liked, right?

"Bay." It spoke, "You.. like the bay?" Many eyes looked up to focus on Terror, almost imploringly, before turning towards the water. It'd begin trudging forward, throwing a final glance over it's shoulder to make sure Terror was coming. It couldn't do this without it's sibling, after all.

I let my horns grow longer
I observed my skin get redder
