The Blacksmith was lost in reflection, for a moment, though he was listening. But he was thinking, too: that he'd need to create a few lights, himself. It was best to ensure they'd have enough, these poor Gembounds, fighting because of the remnants of a little war they didn't understand, that they hadn't been a part of.
He looked to the elf. "Attikias Elenya," he repeated softly, an acknowledgment and a greeting. "Yes, the Blacksmith... suits," he agreed.
It would do.

Attikias nodded. Blacksmith would do, then. "Well-" he sighed out, stuffing his hands under his belt at his hips, idly looking out into Fornax. "It's good to officially meet you, Blacksmith." One foot kicked up behind him slightly and he tapped the tip of it against the ground, thinking.
Casually, he glanced back to his conversation partner. "Well! I can't think of anything else I can do here- I can probably make lights with the things I have at home." He made to gather his things, replacing bags inside the satchel and looping it around his shoulders and turning to face the Blacksmith. "I can't think of anything else, anyways?" He shrugged. "If you don't need me here, I should probably head back to camp and get to work."
Hesitantly, he gave a brief thumbs up to the Blacksmith. An awkward gesture, but an even more awkward goodbye, perhaps. Or- asking to leave? Even Attikias wasn't sure, but the conversation had sort of come to a natural lull, anyways.

The Blacksmith turned back to Attikias.
It was true, his mind was elsewhere--he was fretting over the future, over all that had been done, that had yet to be done. And social grace was not precisely his strong point. He had spent millennia with... a forge, and with flowers, and forests. But he enjoyed Attikias's company. While he had let the conversation drop, and knew little as to what else he could say without some prompting, he was still a little sad to see him go.
"It was... good to meet... you, too," he decided, voice soft. "Please, find me... visit me, again." The offer was given on impulse, and it was genuine: not a thumbs-up (this was greeted with a puzzled glance) but a warm request, an invitation, nonetheless. "You are a... very kind creature."
He studied Attikias for a moment longer, and then looked back out to see, his mind slipping despite his thoughts back to Farina, and what lay below Fornax.
What lay before the Gembound who had offered to help him.

Attikias dipped his head at the offer. "I will, when all this is over." When his head rose, it came with a grin, one filled with gentle optimism. They would meet again. And, to the last bit, he'd responded with a simple, "as are you."
His hands came up to his satchel's strap, and he readjusted it before standing up a little straighter. "Goodbye, Blacksmith."
And with that, he began his way out of Fornax, back home to work. Someday in the future, they'd meet again, but for now he had something to do.
He hoped the Blacksmith didn't strain himself too much more over the upcoming expedition, but there wasn't much else he could do in that regards. He could only work, and he could only offer himself to help.
He hoped it was enough.
