- THE LEVIATHAN -

Let it go? But he already had. And it hadn't come back. (This was a fine example of the Leviathan's logic hard at work.)

Vargas grunted, pushing up.

"Very well, Bone Reader. That answers my questions, for now." (And why did he still feel oddly pacified, and passive-?) "I will come back to you in time."

He hesitated. Some part of his mind briefly--for some strange reason--suggested he dip a head, even bow, to her--to her power, to the time she'd given him. This was strange, and he rejected it--he was the Master, after all. Puzzled at his own foggy mindset, he turned away--and then turned back. "If you decide you wish some form of reward for your services... you will find me in Draco. I am sure we could make use of you; or perhaps you, of us."

Then he was away, long strides carrying him off, the confusion rife in his thoughts.

Giggle watched him go, in silence.

Well, that was a tragic, fucked-up family. Orthoclase was his family, right-? Whatever the case, she pitied it; the poor violent fool had a monster military to deal with.

Giggle, for one, would stick with her fucking bone pit.

She answered nothing to Vargas's offer (thinking it best--and safest--not to voice such thoughts); but she doubted, now, that she'd get back to sleep.

Pensive, she looked down at the bones, and wondered just how close she'd come to being uncovered (and possibly slaughtered); and wondered, too, what the hell was going on in Draco.

And then--quietly--she thanked the bones.
