Cheshire trilled happily at the praise, feathers fluffing up as they grinned. Though whether or not the expression was genuine or not was a mystery, seeing as they could wear no other expression unless their feathers covered their mouth.

”Eat!”, they parroted, flapping their wings in excitement as they settled on his shoulder, folding them back up after a moment to begin to preen.

They were finally quiet, tired after all of that. From being born to falling off of Vargas' shoulder to having their first meal. Their day had been very exciting, at least to a newborn owlette. They didn't sleep, stubbornly keeping their eyes open as they watched for something else to happen, but it was clear they needed rest now.

- THE LEVIATHAN -

His encouragement hadn't taken long, and once the owlette had gobbled down its rat whole, Vargas really didn't check on it much. He was so busy looking for Desert Rose that he damn near forgot to watch Cheshire at all; and in fact it was only when it became very clear indeed that the child was in danger of nodding off that Vargas realized.

Sometimes, he forgot that these creatures needed sleep.

A short huff of a laugh escaped him. "Rest," he advised; "close your eyes. Sleep. When you wake I will have found your new teacher and caretaker. You have much growing to do; you will need to sleep to get there."

Was that how one did parenting, or whatever? It sounded good, at least.

Yeah I'm down! Very sorry for the long delay, had a lot of IRL goings-on

@Cheshire
