ANALA
From a spark to a flame
Anala wasn't sure how she had missed the call to an event such as this, given how eager she had been to prove herself. She wanted to learn from the others using fire here as much as she wanted an excuse to let her magic run wild, torching the weird fungus that made her prey act strange. She knew little of Order save for what was public, but any sickness was something worth curing if it meant less white-eyed mice staring at her while she slept.
"I'm sorry!" Slender legs carried her swiftly to Tectus' feet, where she wasn't honestly sure if she'd even be registered amidst the flames and... lightning? Wow, she wanted to do that. "I signed up to help burn things! I must have been asleep too many caves away! Where should I start?" She called for her magic, feeling the spark ignite in her gem only to die a moment after. Come ON!
Her magic only managed to make her spit taste acidic, and Anala fought to bite back her sour look. Really, now? She only just got here and her magic was already acting up. "I can lay some gel down to make sure the flames take to somewhere specific?" She offered, "So it's easier to keep in check?" She felt so small, all of a sudden, looking at the figure who started this all.

The hybrid was… late. By their own calculations, as well as the calculations of the fire they already see licking along the trees and flickering against the walls. Taking note of who is where, they decide to stay low and quick. Sure they may get burned, but it’s the best way for them to do what they do best. Try to control small things and hope they can hide any of their mistakes before they get out of paw.
“I can run damage control, given I can funnel air away from and towards fire.” They offer, remaining in the air but hopefully close enough for the Overseer to hear, and see their dark coat. “I can also chase down and extinguish any rouge embers from the larger conflagration.”

The fires raged for a while. Help came and went. Eventually, Tectus stepped forward towards the collection of gembound as the flames began to die, nodding with approval. "You have all done well, for now." It was a half-truth - she could see beyond their burned devestation that some of the forest was still infected. But they had been here for a long time and some were leaving already, tired.
Claws dug into the soil. This fungus was tenacious. "We've done as much as we could for now, but we will be back. There is still more to destroy."
She would thank each of them in turn and invite them to be in contact with her, if they wanted. She was, after all, committed to her mission. But she would concede a draw for now and come back with greater force, greater effort.
Soon.
*exiting this thread so we can claim destruction points on it - there will be a new, modern fire thread up soon!

There is still work to be done - but Tectus is calling them all. Time to rest. To prepare for the next push. And there is that assertion, that they aren't yet done. If the Overseer will be back, then Moros will be as well.
She has no need to whisper anything into Tectus's ears, so she simply flutters over, landing quietly on a spike. She'd look like a stray lift caught on her master's hide. But when Tectus plans her next push, Moros will help, sharing information.
