Surrounded by a small halo of the berries, Tolani's attention was fixated on the cavern ceiling over her head, fascinated by the dangling spheres that allowed light to shine through the room, though darkened near her body as her gem remained dark.

Blinking a few times, as her ears swiveled around, the sound she barely recognized as Sabor approaching, and with a bounce in his step as well.

He must've caught something she concluded, nodding her head slightly as she felt the gem in her eye flicker, the magic sputtering before returning to its bright color, the darkened portion of the room returning once more to light as Tolani pushed herself to her feet.

"Took you long enough, Sabor! I was starting to think I'd have to go get you because you got stuck in a rabbit's burrow or something."

Sabor came bouncing barely into Tolani's view when she let out a sarcastic yet worried comment. "I woufn't get stuck imf a burffow" Dropping the rabbit he took in a deep breath. Walking all the way back with a succulent rabbit in his mouth was nearly impossible. BUT, he managed! Like any good king would do after all! A smile on his face he walked just ahead of it, promptly sitting down. Blocking the rabbit from Tolani's view, no matter how poor it was. With regal stature he was poised ready for praise. "Alright Tolani, are you ready for the BEST experience that any culinary meal can offer!?"

He would wait for her to sit before him, eyes closed before scooting the dead mammal before her. He would be wide eyed watching in awe, waiting for her reaction. He only hoped that her teeth weren't just some evolutionary lie.

Craning her neck to see where Sabor was sitting, her head cocked in confusion. She could smell something, but she couldn't figure out what it was. What had Sabor brought with him?

"I woufn't get stuck imf a burffow" Sabor had said, voice muffled by whatever he was carrying, prompting a snort from the small cub.

"Why don't I believe you?" Tolani asked, twisting around to fully face Sabor once more with an amused look dancing through her eye. At least before she noticed how he was sitting.

"You look like you sat on a rock." she commented, poking at the tiger's shoulder with her paw, cautious of her claws to prevent accidental injury to her... easily excited friend.

"Alright Tolani, are you ready for the BEST experience that any culinary meal can offer!?"

Her words were stuck in her throat, eye widened in barely hidden surprise as her mouth opened and closed a few times as she attempted, but failed to speak.

"Sabor," she started, "that's the first time you've called me by my name."

Only the expectation of seeing her excited for a meal, hadn't arrived. She only poked his shoulder, claiming he appeared as if he sat on a rock. Well if it was a rock, then it was a king's rock...He figured it would be best to let that comment slide. Being as his retort made little sense. Though what threw him is that she seemed STUNNED that he called her by name. Tilting his hear, ears every which way he stared at her, mouth a gap without words. Why wouldn't he? Was it bad? She called him by his name...maybe she didn't appreciate it?

"Yeah? Its...Your name right?...I could call you something else..." He watched her, only managing to bounce in place once or twice. Attempting to keep absolute poise. He hoped she would hurry up, cause he couldn't do this for long. He just wanted to see her enjoy this sweet succulent rabbit! Though maybe she would be cursed for a life of eating bush turds...

"Yeah? Its...Your name right?...I could call you something else..."

She watched him bounce a few times, forcing her mind back into reality with a rapid shake of her head.

"No, no! That's fine you just... You've never called me by my name, and you just did... Sorry, I wasn't expecting that, usually you'd just say 'you there' or 'hey' to get my attention." Tolani said, settling herself down in front of her friend.

"So, back on topic." She started, to divert the feline's attention, "What'd you catch? I mean, I can smell something on you, but I'm not sure what."

He hadn't thought about that before. That was the first time he had said her name, now that she mentioned all the other times came off as rude. That wouldn't do, he would remember this, keep this bit in check. Have to be nice, care and most of all respectful. Boy, it was a hard life as a growing King. Especially when you come off as rude without realizing it, but maybe it's because they had only know each other for a short while. Either way, he would plan on using her name more often.


"What'd you catch? I mean, I can smell something on you, but I'm not sure what."

AH! Now back to the pain focus! He was practically beaming, if he controlled light one would think his golden could would shimmer from excitement. "Today, I have for you is a nice plump brown rabbit!" With a quick paw he scooted the carcass from behind him, laying it before Tolani. Watching her expectantly, he was struggling now. He had to keep calm, finding it difficult not to bounce around from the sheer excitement. Well then this would be practice for when he truly would be a regal king. He would have to stay poised at all times, try and maintain the perfect balance of stoic control and charm.

The cub watched as excitement rose in her golden furred companion, tempted to ask just what had him so giddy before he'd answered, motions as quick as his words as a carcass was pushed in front of her.

"Today, I have for you is a nice plump brown rabbit!" Sabor had crowed, struggling to keep calm with piercing eyes fixated on her.

Slowly, Tolani allowed her gaze to shift from Sabor, to the carcass he'd pushed in front of her, upper lip curling back slightly at the scent wafting around her. Head tilting to the side with a twitch of her ears.

"Uhh...." she started, turning her head the other way with an inquisitive prod to the brown fur, feeling it move with ease, none of the resistance she'd felt from prodding at Sabor, drawing her paw away with a small sheen of crimson where nails had grazed the punctures from Sabor's teeth.

"Sabor... How am I supposed to... It's still got fur?" Her gaze darted to his face, expecting an explanation as she continued, "am I just supposed to... It- this doesn't look as good as you say it is."

Piercing golden eyes fixated on Tolani he waited. Watching her prod the rabbit's brown fur. Golden eyes darting from the food back up to Tolani, and back to the food again. Mouth open, waiting for well ANYTHING. Except she gave him a confused uhh, speaking up about her concern of the meal.

"Sabor... How am I supposed to... It's still got fur?"

He could only blink at her once, twice, wait was she really asking? Didn't she just watch him devour a rabbit previously. Though...she did turn away while he was ravenously eating.

"It- this doesn't look as good as you say it is."

He let out a gasp in exclamation. "Tolani, this is PRIME A rabbit meat right here. You should have SEEN this little guy eating the premium grass, he was so picky!! Trust me, I know what I'm talking about." Honestly he had no clue, at least not yet. Sabor stopped momentarily, realizing she expressed concern over the fur...maybe if he showed her the good stuff inside that would help!

No sooner than she would blink he grabbed one of the rabbit's legs. Holding it down flat against the forest floor he pulled. Luckily the ripping of flesh lasted only a few seconds. Easily tearing the leg from the rest of the carcass he stood there confident. Rabbit leg dangling in his mouth as he spoke triumphantly. "You just rip it apart really! Ear the fur and everything! Like this!"

Her confusion was immediately replaced by mild annoyance as Sabor gasped, preparing for some sort of onslaught of loud ramblings about how he was a king and how he knew what a king ate was just fine for others.

"Tolani, this is PRIME A rabbit meat right here. You should have SEEN this little guy eating the premium grass, he was so picky!! Trust me, I know what I'm talking about." Well... She wasn't wrong.

Opening her mouth to talk, she paused, watching realization flutter across Sabor's face before he'd shot forward, grabbing the hind leg of the carcass and ripping, the sound of tearing flesh echoing through her ears as a small spray of crimson shot up.

"You just rip it apart really! Ear the fur and everything! Like this!" Sabor had said, triumphantly holding the leg between his jaws and seemingly mindless to the strangely smelling liquid dripping from where the limb had been torn.

Of course, the only sound she could make in response to the rather vicious demonstration, was a shriek.

"SABOR!"

Somehow Sabor had thought Tolani would react calmly to this tip. He was very mistaken, very mistaken...It wasn't like he showed her something perilous! But maybe he would learn that she didn't take kindly to this...or maybe she would learn to expect these kinds of things before he did them. Either way, both needed to learn. And before that Sabor just wished Tolani would eat her food!

The sanguine fluid dripping from his chops was so tantalizing he wanted to devour right here right now! But, it was for Tolani and Tolani alone, he would leave it be. She would eat her fill and what ever she didn't eat he would scoop up and devour in a moments notice. Yes, he liked that plan very much.

"HEY, just hush long enough to eat this! Its good! I promise!"

With a sheepish smile he dropped the rabbit leg, watching his young companion eye the tasty morsel in front of her. She would learn to trust him. With her small stature, blind eye paired with poor sight in the other she would have to.
