The young pup gave a slight nod. Her shoulders relaxed slightly; perhaps at least the inhabitants of this world weren't so bad... Or at least, not all of them. This one, seemed fine. Nice even! They tried to help her! She felt that she was quite lucky. Looking up, she seemed hopeful for once in response to the serval's words.

"O-oh... Well, thanks anyway," the pup said with a tiny smile, trying not to let it seem forced. For once, she felt she'd found a good thing in this world, and didn't want to disappoint it or worse, drive it away. "Maybe I'll find something later. There's gotta be something somewhere... The world isn't that cruel, right?" she reassured. An innocent question, but one which leaked honesty into her voice. It wasn't a rhetorical question; she genuinely wanted to know if the world was as cruel as it had first struck her.
