MAGICKA LEVEL 100%
RESTORED TO 100%
Cuan felt tempted to ask a stupid question. A VERY stupid question. She really wanted to ask this, so unthinkingly, she blurted out "What is it like on the surface? There appears to be life, but what about our magic? Would our magic still work in this 'Surface' place?" Cuan suddenly wished that she had not asked the question for various reasons. First of all, it was stupid. Second of all, everyone was going along all dandy and she interrupted. Darn, she REALLY killed the mood here! Way to go Cuanakrys, become the serial killer of moods with unnecessary questions! If she could, she would have brought her paw to her face. Instead, she created a small arrangement to quell her guilt and nerves. It looked a lot like a paw. Cuan quickly rearranged it to look even more like a paw. Good, she had relaxed a bit. Cuanakrys now sat back down like a civil and normal gembound. Nothing ever happened, and no there was definitely never a stupid question and no she did not make that thing that looks a lot like an arrangement of random objects made to look like a paw.

Amras |
A single ear twitched as Amras studied the creation of the pale blue flower. The blacksmith had described himself as plant based, which could have been interpreted as being a plant himself with the flower being a part of his body. Something told him that this wasn't accurate though; even if no lights had been created with the emergence of the plant it somehow just felt like spell work. Did he mean that plant magic was easiest for him? Furthermore did that means that if he just let his magic flow it would affect plant life rather than make a shockwave like was the case for Amras?
Just this small demonstration was enough to spin the gryphon's head into even more questions than he had before, much too many to even begin to ask right now. Did everyone have a default element and his just happened to be pure energy? How many different types of magic were there? Was it possible that users of different types of magic could weave their energies together to create new magic entirely?
Unfortunately he'd have to shelve those thoughts as the blacksmith continued on, almost undoubtedly to shine light to even more of the cave's mystery and reveal countless more caverns of thought that would need to be explored. Both a blessing and a monstrous challenge at the same time.
The tale of how the familiar spell and pattern spell came to be answered one question about the creation of magic, but that description of parent came up again. Did that mean that the beings that came before had a greater mastery of the nature of magic that could be passed on? Furthermore it sounded like this magic could be used to imbue things, like Amras had just done with the pebble, and that there was a specific art to that process that could go much deeper than just implanting light.
The revelation of the existence and nature of the surface was interesting, but only in that it was obviously not a place he wanted to try to explore unless he became much more powerful. No magic and aggressive mindless creatures... with any luck Amras and the other greater gembound would be able to stay down here out of harm's way for a long time to come.
Finally, in a show of great generosity the Blacksmith displayed a variety of different magics they were willing to teach and reformed the golden wolf's summoned crystal into an item of power.
"While all magic you have displayed is awe-inspiring for a fledgling such as myself, I am indeed most interested in the pattern creation magic you have shown. While it would be interesting to explore the mysteries of the eye light spell I fear it has a high likelihood of being either much too complex of a puzzle to solve or bereft of deeper meaning and simply a minor trick. The summoning spell is unlike anything I have even begun to witness before, and very well may be outside my ability to grasp at this time."
Of course taking a crash course in pattern magic also looked like it would have the greatest potential for unlocking further areas of study. Truly he wished to learn all the blacksmith had to teach, especially if the introduction to conjuration magic had potential to contribute to further knowledge, but he wasn't about to be greedy on this one.
A slight jolt ran down the gryphon's spine as from one side the previously silent red wolf loudly blurted out a string of inquiries before attending to random objects on the ground in a neurotic manner. After the initial shock of the outburst, however, a small grin washed over his face. She did pose a few interesting questions about the previously mentioned place of danger; it seemed that many of the gembound here had the same thirst for knowledge that had taken hold of him.

Kin-Kin nodded slowly, ears flicking as she took in their words. Kin-Kin's attention was drawn by... certain... aspects. Ones that intrigued her greatly. The wolf tilted her head slowly, deep purple eyes searching.
"How does one... 'develop', their own spells?" Kin-Kin asked pointedly, her thought process clear to read. She was the magical champion of the caves, after all; she felt like she ought to know.
Her ears pricked once more as she listened, information clicking gently into place about each of these odd new spells and how they worked. Kin-Kin gave a grumble of satisfaction with each new trick theg spoke of... even if they didn't seem to have that much faith in the abilities of the cave-dwellers. Her gaze lingered on the tiny, pale blue figure of herself, her nostrils twitching slightly.
The being answered her question on the surface. Another world outside of this one? Kin-Kin had never thought of such a thing as possible... but she supposed it was. After all, they were surrounded by rocky walls, and there couldn't be just stone forever. Their answer created more questions than they solved. "No minds?" She asked incredulously. "Like the lesser Gembounds, or just... nothing?" mindless monsters?
Kin-Kin fell silent and watched them take her stony gift of turquoise. The wolf's tail lifted in pride, although she thought it might have been more impressive if she'd baubled it too. Before she could say anything, however, they held it out to her again, and the stone had changed. Kin-Kin's eyes opened wider, her jaw parting as though in excitement.
This would strengthen her magic! At least for one spell! The opportunity was simply too good to pass up! She almost felt the urge to shower the Blacksmith with gems of all shapes and sizes. Would she be able to do that? She simply had to know how to do this, to push her skills to the very limits of what they could do, and then beyond! But she knew that she'd have to be patient, and tactful. The she-wolf shook the look of excited stupor from her face, and twitched her right ear. "Here," she said excitedly, bowing her head and closing her eyes as the other ear laid back against her skull.

MAGICKA LEVEL 100%
RESTORED TO 100%
Zevruu listened intently as the creature spoke. At one point, he heard it call itself the Blacksmith. He continued to listen, ears pricked eagerly. He had never heard so much at one point, and the new information was becoming slightly overwhelming. Still, he didn't want to miss a thing. An ear flicked as the large blue creature spoke, seeming to request for the blacksmith to teach him.
As he listened, his mind also wandered. The blacksmith had spoken of such a thing as the surface. But the surface of what? Was there more to the caves? Something...beyond? Would they ever get to see it? Or would they be trapped down here, forever forced to roam the caves?
As the blacksmith spoke again, and held out its hand, his attention snapped back to the present and he watched a plant grow in its palm. He listened as it spoke about two spells, a conjuring spell and the painting spell. His attention wavered, thinking about the surface some more until he heard the creature speak of it. He listened intently as the creature explained. So...there was a surface, where creatures like them roamed. But they didn't have gems. Did they have magic? Was it possible to use magic without a gem? He'd never seen someone down here that didn't have a gem. He continued listening. So they would fight? He had seen some fights here, usually when he was avoiding others. Not very many, and they were cycles ago. Or at least he thought they were. He'd lost all sense of time when it was dark.
He watched and let out a silent gasp as the gem was turned into a ring. He had no idea how someone could do that. Then again, he'd never seen a creature such as the blacksmith. He listened, glancing toward Kin-kin on occasion. When it mentioned another spell and pointed toward its eyes, he looked up. He watched as it seemed to glow a shimmering blue, and his eyes widened. It was very simple, yet it seemed to appeal to him. The familiar was certainly interesting, and Kin-kin was clearly taken with it, and the painting was cool. But Zevruu would never know what to paint. He had never been one for creating something like that. He preferred things that glowed, such as his baubled stone and necklace. And...the shimmering eyes. He didn't realize until later that he had slowly been crawling closer, and sighed as the spell faded.
As the red wolf that approached later spoke, he glanced toward it. She had asked questions he wondered himself, but would never have the courage to ask. He looked toward the blacksmith, wondering what its response would be.

Zevruu carries a baubled stone with him at all times, a reminder of him meeting Macawi and getting his fortune told. He also wears a golden chain necklace that he got after fighting a couple of rats in the quest Will You Help Me?
