Ahah! He was right! "A princess of light." He said reverently. Something about the term felt familiar to him, like the idea was... his own. Not his his, but like it might have belonged to him, at some point. Except he would be a prince. Prince of Light? Alright. He'd tuck that idea away for now. It seemed his mention of Hasira had upset her, and the cow looked back at White with a twinge of worry. "No! You aren't violent. You're very nice. Hasira..." His voice trailed off. It would feel like betrayal of his own kind to shit talk Hasira. "He just didn't meet the right people. If he met you I think he'd change his mind." Caravaggio nodded with certainty.

Then again... Did he really want Hasira to meet White? "Um, anyways. Don't worry about it. So. Do you like um..." He fumbled, worried that he might have taken the conversation in the wrong direction. He really didn't want to talk about Hasira now. What about that gift he owed her? Okay. What kinds of things could he give her? His mind roiled, trying to think of all the possibilities, all the things he'd seen in his short life that would make a good present. "Do you like flowers, White? Or pretty rocks? Or feathers?" He blinked nervously. Right. Real smooth. And totally not obvious.

"I like shiny rocks," she said. "I don't know what a flower is, though."

She tilted her head a little bit. "What kind of things do you like?" she asked.

!!! He couldn't have asked for a more perfect answer. The cow excitedly jumped to his hooves, lashing his tail as he looked down at her. "Okay! Good!" He knew exactly what he was gonna do. This was gonna be so good, man, she'll love it. And then Caravaggio will be the BEST at friending. Only she asked him what he liked, and the cow faltered again. He hadn't counted on her asking. "Ahh... Um..." His voice trailed off again. "Hey!! You should stay right here, alright? I mean, in Polaris. I have to go do something but I don't know how long it'll take. But I'll be back, okay?" He said suddenly and turned away from her. He didn't have time to think about what kinds of things he liked. He had to go get his perfect gift for White! "And don't worry about Hasira! Just stay here. I'll see you later!" The cow bleated. He lingered for a second more, watching her, then grinned and bolted away.

White watched her new friend leave, blinking. Slowly, she shrugged, decidedly tired after such friendship bonding. She glanced off around the caves briefly, searching for her father, but when she couldn't see anything at all she chose to simply lay her head down and take a well-deserved nap.
