When the cave had fallen silent and Amras's breathing slowed, the fourth one carefully took control. The others were sleeping peacefully, their minds resting quietly. There was no interference that it had to worry about. No annoying babble, no fighting for the top spot.

To stick around with Amras? No way. It wasn't going to allow that. The fool had no idea what its plans were, had no idea how to use magic to its fullest extent. While he was wandering around his cave, drawing runes and studying the useless corners, it would delve straight into the center, grasp the destructive forces of magic, take whatever it could. And it would do it without a teacher.

Slowly, it unwrapped the bat wings, trying to remember how Amras had pointed them out. Go opposite of the tornado. Obviously. There was no reason to go back in that wind.

As quietly as possible, it fluttered down from the cieling and to the mouth of the cave. The sound of its wings blended into the sounds of the howling wind. It didn't look back as it leaped out and took off towards the end of the cave.
