Blackberry narrowed her eyes and glared at the moose. What was his use if the plants wouldn't do as he commanded? Wasn't that what he did? Control plants? What was he worth to her without their compliance?

But then that softness came back, that strange emotion tugging at her swirling, raging darkness. A reminder, taking her back to the night she had cried. Her broken wing, gashes covering her body, with Blueberry curled up at her side. She had spoken his name then, his real name. Not Moose. Blueberry. She had...cared about him. Was that what that was?

And he had waited for her. Loyal Blueberry. The moose that had refused to give up. He was useful to her. He had helped her win and would help her again. He was the only one.

She took a deep breath and relaxed. She draped her trophies back around her neck and looked at the moose, her head held high. "We have won two battles now, two great victories. There will be more. Come, my loyal Blueberry. Let us find more, punish more, torment more. We shall be feared by all."

She turned and marched away, not quite sure where she was going now. They would reach another battle soon. They would always find another to bloody and destroy.

Blueberry hung his head low. He was ashamed that he had almost gotten them killed. That he had almost gotten Blackberry killed. It frusrated him and made the moose feel horrible that he had almost been the one to end the goose's life.

Blackberry spoke once more. This time, she used his name. His actual, real name! The only time Blackberry ever did that was when she was not angry. Which meant Bluberry would be okay. He'd just have to be careful next time and think before doing. Blueberry turned to follow his friend and companion to ther next bloddy and glorious victory.
