Samael was above the trees, flying high but using his keen eyesight to observe in his hunt for a Golden Charger. He knew their preferred habitat was one with trees.

He was careful to stay out of lunging range from the trees, just in case of one lurking in the trees. Snakes could not jump, but they certainly could strike. They were magnificent and dangerous creatures.

Would his observation skills pay off, Samael wondered. He had used no magic, only his physical senses so far. Perhaps that would not be enough.

His observation skills did not pay off. They did the opposite of pay off, in fact. He had forgotten he held a gemstone in his hands, gifted by Sakhira, and he found he accidentally dropped it.

The noise was startling loud as it hit the ground, more than one might expect. Any creatures in the area were startled away.

Samael, embarrassed, collected the gemstone from the ground and headed back to Cepheus. He would try again... Next time without anything in his hands.
