Samael had searched well for a good place to hide potential chrysalises, eventually settling on a carefully chosen section of the forest, where there was a great deal of undergrowth to hide a growing chrysalis.

He placed the pink topaz stone of the Golden Charger down, and then it was time for the moment of truth. Tension was on his small winged form as he focused upon the stone.

But he tried his best not to think of 'what if's. In this moment, what mattered was the now. And so Samael attempted to channel his magic to the stone.

MAGICKA LEVEL 91%

It was in awe that Samael watched as his magic took. Pink topaz gradually formed into a chrysalis triggered by his granting of magic. He could hear his own diamond heart still pounding in his ears. It was a different sound than the heartbeats he was used to, made of gem as it was.

But that notice was quickly discarded in favor of simply gazing upon the new chrysalis. He had thought himself selfish in creating a child, of wanting children. And maybe he was. Yet, as he gazed upon the chrysalis, all he could think was that he would do his best by this child and any others, so long as they permitted him to. How could he do anything else in the face of the beautiful creation of life?

Samael found himself hoping the child, children, would stay. He would respect their freewill, of course. But... This was the selfish wish of his diamond heart, never to be spoken aloud. He would not insist. But... he hoped, as he always hoped.

Hope and what it might bring was worth the hardships involved, after all.
